I loved living in Leicester. Really good shopping centre a short walk from uni with loads of restaurants and good shops, as well as lots of cute independent places to discover. Varied night life with clubs for different music as well as a big variety of bars. Nice walks everywhere in pretty environment. Always felt safe. Two big stadiums easy to walk to with varsity held at one. Balanced mix of students and locals around. I felt so happy all the time living in Leicester.

I love leicester would happily move here when I’m older. Both unis are very close to the centre and highcross isn’t far either. Loads of shops to choose from. Loads of restaurants to eat at. Millions of ways to get around.

The campus is really close to the city centre with good transport links. You can walk to town within 15 minutes or take the bus. The city centre has a great shopping centre with plenty of places to eat with all different cuisines!

Leicester is a really nice area! University is 20 minutes from town and really close to London Road which has loads of amazing restaurants. Everything is walking distance, and New Walk is a pretty path to walk down. Leicester has some nice parks perfect for jogging! There's not that much to do in Leicester but the botanical gardens are pretty!

Night outs are fun and some clubs have special student nights with low price drinks and tickets e.g. Monsta Mondays where there was a bouncy castle and a mechanical bull in the club. Shopping can be good with high cross and the market. There's also a trampoline place aswell that you can visit.

The University of Leicester is located around 10 minutes walk from the city centre which is great for shopping and nightlife. First year accommodation is in Oadby which is around 40 minutes walk from campus. Most people end up getting a bus pass which is useful for travelling all over Leicester but is quite expensive considering some other universities have free buses with their accommodation. In the later years most people choose to get houses which are closer to the university and not bother with a bus pass. Leicester is nice as a city as it is not too big so you can learn the way around quite quickly. The same can be said for the campus which is mainly located in one area.

Leicester isn't a bad city, nice architecture, excellent shopping facilities and plenty or food available

Brilliant city as it is not too big like London but not too small either. Has massive shopping centre (Highcross) that is modern and has most high street shops there. Apart from an ice rink, it doesn't lack what any other major city had and nights out are brilliant.

Great night life, restaurants and places for students to go. The clubs are really cool and UoL hosts there own nights in the O2 academy if you aren’t feeling like travelling too far

De Montfort University is located right next to the city centre so all shops, restaurants and leisure facilities are close by. The train station is a 10 minute walk away and there are also two sports stadiums 5 minutes away.

I’m currently studying at DeMontfort university and so far my experience has been amazing. Everything is within walking distance so there’s no need to spend money on taxis and buses. The town centre has everything you need whether you’re wanting to go for a nice meal and shop or going out for the night .

The town centre has everything you could imagine. From Apple to good old Iceland. Everything you need is within arms reach. The city never sleeps, there’s always something to do or someone to see. However, after the town centre, there’s no much to do and the transport links aren’t that great.

I like the nights out being so far from home can definitely put you out your comfort zone but the people here are all so welcoming. I am able to network and socialise

Leicester is a vibrant city with a wide array of people from all nationalities. It has a bustling city centre with lots of places to eat and drink throughout any day day of the week. When it comes to nightclubs there’s a little something for everyone, each club being known for its specific style and music genre.

I believe the location of de Montfort university is brilliant, it’s a 5 min walk from town, has all you need on campus (dominoes, Tesco, one stop etc). It is also not far from a night club named mosh which is a good night out. It also has many pubs around it.

Leicester is a very multi-cultured city which really promotes other religious celebrations to the community. The bars and clubs in Leicester are good, and the highcross shopping centre is phenomenal. In Leicester there are many things that you can do, and it is easy to make your way around the city.

The location is great!! The town centre and high cross is within a 5 minute walk, there a multiple takeaways and shops surrounding the campus and a Tesco superstore so it is easy and convenient to pop to the shops in between lectures

The location is great where the Uni is compact and accessible without having to travel long distances to a specific department. There are loads of fantastic accommodation options at affordable prices. Home to a great variety of pubs and one of the most diverse roads in the UK where a total of 28 languages are spoken. The Highcross shopping centre offers a great variety of brands and a selection of food stores that you can pop in when you're feeling peckish.

The universities in Leicester flow so nicely into the city so everything is easily accessible, mostly on foot or sometimes by bus. Food options are great and varied from cheap mcdonals and weatherspoons (for the pre night out pitchers and obligatory morning after breakfasts) and many other nicest places to eat such as Pierre bistro etc. As for nights out Most will always be a firm favourite despite being on the small side but with other options such as republic and revs. Though not a massive shopping destination there are plenty of shops in the center for most people to not need to leave Leicester.

Leicester’s a nice city, not too small but not too big either, everything’s walking distance so it’s convenient. Very student friendly, there’s accommodation on every street, it’s a really multicultural place, loads of nice food and nice shopping centres too. And the actual city is set in a good place, near loads of nearby big cities like Birmingham and London isn’t too far either. Generally enjoyed my time here.

Shopping centre is great and there are loads of places to eat. The cinema is good and there are loads of clubs and bars.

Overall Leicester is a great place for shopping and eating out and there are many places for entertainment. Moreover, it is a multicultural city where you can meet people from different backgrounds. Students have the opportunity to choose from two universities. The location benefits from being in the middle of two big cities: Birmingham and Peterborough, so if you are bored of Leicester you can always enjoy a night out in Birmingham.
