Leicester University is around a 15 minute walk from the city centre via a pedestrian path. It is situated about 10 minutes from the train station, ideal for catching a train after your last lecture on a Friday. There is also a bus that stops directly outside the main entrance of the university which travels to the halls of residence via the general student area that is populated by 2nd and 3rd years. There is a Morrisons close to the university for any necessary shopping. Whilst the university is not far from the centre of the city, it is also about a 5 minute walk from London Road which features a large array of restaurants, bars and dessert places.

The location was perfect living close to home but not too close for comfort. A lot of young people were out and about Very regualaty which made me feel at peace. A very vibrant and student orientated city. There was many things to do from the multiple shopping centres to the numerous restaurants and because everything was so accessible I got acquainted with the place whilst having fun.

Loved the location in first year, vibrant and student orientated. A lot of young people out and about day or night which made me feel at home. Many things from shopping centres to restaurants were easily accessible, so I’d say I enjoyed my first year getting acquainted with the place whilst having fun.

Leicester is a vibrant multicultural city located in the very heart of the United Kingdom, and one of the most affordable cities for students. Welcoming and friendly, it really feels like home to students.

Leicester is a good student city, with lots to do and you definitely get value for your money. A great plus is the fact that the majority of places are within walking distance, but the busses are regular and leicester is cheapest city in the UK to get an Uber.

Being a student you want to be able to commute easily close to university. Dmu is pretty much placed in the centre of it located 10mins from town full of shops, clubs, restaurants and entertainment such as cinema and gym. This makes living as a student soo much easier everything you need is at your doorstep.

Leicester is a perfect city to move to for university especially for the first time leaving home. It is small enough and convenient with a variety of clubs and thriving nightlife, as well as many events throughout the year such as the Riverside festival in summer. With two universities it is a huge student city and has a large range of student accomodations throughout the city. The city centre is a pretty combination of both modern and old fashioned buildings and incredibly picturesque and there are two parks, a leisure centre and a national space centre.

Leicester is a small but lively city during term time, with 2 universities there is a huge student population with loads of clubs and nightlife. Whilst there are various events happening throughout the year the city is small and convenient with all the shops you need and a huge selection of student accomodations throughout the city as well as two parks and two sports stadiums, a leisure centre and a shopping centre.

Highcross is a fantastic shopping centre, up in the leagues with the Bullring. Plenty of bars, clubs and places to play pool

Location of the university is very close to town which has everything you need. Wide variety of food, great places to relax and spend time with friends and family.

City is brilliant but not when the students are not there. Has the correct shopping places and great value for money

Nights out are pretty decent, good vibe especially for student, when students aren’t there more of a ghost town. Shopping is good, all the required shops are there, you don’t feel like you miss anything. Things to do is Iimited, isn’t always that much to do. Value for money is relative but I think transport is expensive.

Best place to live is London road side of town! Short walk away from the train station, high cross and all the lovely restaurants. But also close to university

A real student city, love it! The two universirties here means you never run short on new people to meet. So many affordable places to go out to eat or go shopping. Lots of discounts. Many nice green places to visit when the weathers nice. Banging nightlife!

The nights out are crazy, the good is excellent, shopping is enjoyable, also there are lots of things to do, plus the midlands is a cheap place to be in, compared to most, plus uni life here is ideal for a student.

Very good location and facilities at uni. Love the atmosphere and the buZz around campus, especially in the student union. The uni think of their students very well and accommodate to their needs. There is a lot of different services available to support uni students and I find this extremely helpful

Nights out are popular every day of the week. There will be more than 2 clubs open per day located around city centre. Easy to commute to. City centre town and Leicester's high cross shopping centre have your high end and street shops that are located in the same area. Walking distance. The food is amazing. Variety of shops for whatever meets your appetite.

overall the uni is a nice clean place, there are different buildings but these are no more than a 5 minute walk from one another. The library is not big enough but the uni are expanding, so they should be adding more. The campus is in city centre & accommodation surrounds it, all facilities are in walking area including night life and the train station.

Great city! Big shopping centre where you can find everything you need, lots of student-friendly places to eat and, of course, brilliant nights out!"

I love my uni, it’s very close to the train station meaning you do not have to walk far if you’re commuting. It’s also close to the town centre where there are plenty of shops and bars!

Great location, right next to a park and only a 10 minute walk to the city centre alongside lots of bus routes. Only downside is that campus is very far from student halls in oadby village

Nights out are good. Plenty of student friendly nights. Lots of stuff to do. Decent shopping centres. Takeaways are so ridiculously cheap. PERI GRILL IS A MUST (cheapest and best food) their chicken is off the chain and they have the best chips I’ve ever had. For a student, it doesn’t really get better than Leicester. But they do have an awful one way system if you drive and not many good and cheap sports facilities as far as I know. Uber is good, taxis seem to compete with Uber quite well.

In a reasonable location in that it is only a 20 minute walk from the city centre, or 10 minute bus ride. There are buses every 10 minutes to the halls of residence which are 3 miles from university. The only downside is that if you only have a 1 hour gap between lectures, you do not really have time to go into town so would have to bring food or buy it from the University shop. There are lots of good clubs in town though which is useful in 2nd and 3rd year if living in the city centre. There are buses which run from halls to the university 02 academy for first year. There is a big shopping centre in town which has everything you could need. The downside is other activities, which are often a long bus ride away.

For a university city l Leicester is perfect. It is a large enough city that it is exciting and has everything you need, and it is small enough that you don't need the unnecessary expense of a car while you study.
