I chose Edinburgh because of the history of the city and university. It is a beautiful place to live and I love being able to walk everywhere.

Really fun, close to the beach and hills. Nice open areas but helpful to have many shops nearby. Lots of options for places to go on nights out. Lovely cafes all around the city with beautiful views and tourist attractions for the day time.

Nights out are not good, think there should me more entertainment at nights in edinburgh, the shopping is great but I think the grocery shops should be bigger and more places than Asda should be 24/7

As a capital city, Edinburgh has everything to offer - great shops, theatres, galleries, sports venues and all at only a stones throw from the centre. Student accommodation is also all very centrally based so there is no need for students to use public transport - you can walk anywhere you need to go.

The location of my uni is sort of in the middle of nowhere therefore wouldn't say it is the best. There is also no place for parking so it makes it hard to get to.

Edinburgh is a beautiful city full of culture. You're never short of a place to eat or a bar to drink. Every year in August they have their fringe comedy festival which attracts tourists from all around the globe.

Edinburgh is a great city for students and young professionals alike. An independent coffee shop on every street, amazing food from all over the world, incredible night life and everything is at less than 1h away. Definitely recommend Edinburgh, a city filled with history and a strong personality.

theres a lidl nearby my student accomodation (arran house) which is quite handy and you have fountain park right beside the accomodation.

Night life is very diverse - George street has all of your classy bars and hiphop/r&b clubs; head down to Cowgate for more underground techno/dance venues. Plethora of sainsburys and tescos around with a few scotmids open 24/7 for late night scran. Rent is £££££ but definitely worth it for the city views and old Edinburgh architecture.

Perfect student city. Plenty of nights out can be had and every time a different experience. Loads of student deals available for activities and food.

Edinburgh is Scotland's compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers. Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.

Edinburgh is one of the best cities ever! The uni campus it so central and has everything you need. The city itself it full of wonderful places to eat and drink on student budgets. There is lots to do whatever the weather such as exploring the streets on foot or taking shelter in one of the museums.

I lived in Leith last year. It was a bit of a trek to get to the uni but I think it was worth it. Leith feels like a different city where people actually care about each other instead of just passing you by in a hurry

My residence is 5 minutes away from the main campus on Cowgate. The school's location could not be better. It is located super close to night-life, just a few minutes from The Royal Mile, and is surrounded by delicious cafes and restaurants with lots of student discounts.

Edinburgh is amazing. It is such a beautiful city full of history and amazing sites. Even though it is the capital of Scotland, it also has such a peaceful vibe to it. Whether you want to drink tea, explore museums, go hiking check out the local pubs or clubs- Edinburgh offers something for everyone.

This university is only a 6 minute train journey to Edinburgh city centre which is great for shopping, events and nights out. However, the town that this university is a half an hour walk, very limited shops and definitely not any good for a night out. There are nice walks in close distance but again, the transport isn't great with trains only running hourly in the evenings. The buses run often and are brilliant during the day but are just very slow

Edinburgh is an amazing city and I am having a fantastic time here. I feel you can easily integrate the way of life in Edinburgh by having a lot of fun and still taking time in your studies. The fact that most of the places you need to go are walkable is a really great thing.

Great city, lots of options for food and drink every where you go and more and more are cropping up more often, nightlife is really good especially the local music scene! Lots of great little venues such as the mash house and sneaky petes!

Techno, techno, techno. Edinburgh night life is class, wouldn't want to be anywhere else but Scotland. The city could do with more shopping developments however.
