The facilities are wonderful and the staff are exceptionally supportive, there are still buildings being built on campus as I type for the sports students. The music department has professional industry standard equipment and so does the media department, it is a pleasure to study in.

Solent univeristy is great place to study. Very modern and well developing univeristy with a great facilities and resources available in the library. University is placed in fantastic location near the park, right in the city centre. I am really happy that I have chosen Solent for my higher education degree.

Good university for Sports students. Great city to live in with a fantastic nightlife, helped by Solent being one of two universities in the city. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to go into coaching or strength and conditioning to come to Solent. The teaching on the courses in those particular areas is fantastic, and the links provided to go on placements allows the student to gain real world experience alongside their studies. This will only improve with the addition of a new sports building.

Uni is good, but not great. Ridiculous that I'm on an arts course and I have to spend an extra £300-£600 during the academic year for supplies and then printing on top.

There are numerous buildings around Southampton. Each building is used for different subjects and my main building is the business building which isn't on the main campus. The lecture theatres are big enough to fit about 150 people or so in, this way we can have a large group of student learning at the same time. Then we've got our classrooms where we are in smaller groups and this works better when asking questions. However, I feel that group work could be improved in many aspects within the university. Personally, I got put into a group and when others slacked, I had to pick up that worl as well as my own. This is a point that should be looked at more and I strongly feel that the students should individually get punished and not the whole group as that is unfair on those of us that actually complete our tasks.

I had recently graduated my undergrad from Solent, and due to tutors and course leaders, I wanted to go back to do my masters. The reason I went back to solent was cause I felt safe and also cause I really enjoyed my time there.

I throurougly enjoyed studying my degree at Solent and am returning to complete my Masters. It hosts a mass of state of the art facilities and Southampton is amazing as a place to study

It's has different building's for different types of subjects which is really good. So for bussiness, fashion & sports would mostly be located in different buildings for study purpose. Lecture rooms are nice. We even have Costa & Starbucks in our buildings. Tutors are very supportive. There is loads of social activities / clubs to join.

Solent is a good uni. Small and decent. Library could be bigger and there could be more societies. Should help students get part time jobs. Lectures are nice.

University was new and upcoming until they spent a large budget on new buildings and started laying off important teachers. Still has some cool courses but the uni is starting to not focus on the students and only on the business.

Quite good, it's more like college than uni, which I prefer, it's less formal than a proper uni and more intimate with the teaching staff.

I am studying on the illustration course at Southampton Solent University. The placement of the art facilities are brilliant, as well as where the main site is. The studios are amazing, with lots of space and facilities to do as you wish and are open throughout the summer for personal use. The main site is huge! The classrooms are great. I am glad I decided to study here.

Arts degrees had great facilities and were taught well. The careers service is also fantastic and availble for students up to 3 years after they graduate. The SU got closed down however it wasnt always used as there are so many clubs in town.

good university in terms of the interaction in lessons, and the modernity of its classes as opposed to other more traditional universities.

I study fine art in the below bar building. This is great as this building is just for art students that do graphics, illustration and art. The building itself is huge which is great if you like to create big art works.

Solent has been a great university to attend. After nearly being put off from where it stood on the university tables, I was quickly reassured when visiting the university. It has high spec equipment and amazing facilities. It makes up for the student fees, for sure! The lecturers really make the university what it is; being surrounded by passionate and genuine people is something I've learned to appreciate (despite workload!) It's a great university and has plenty to offer!

Lovely area. Expensive accommodation unless you stay in the rubbish halls. The night life is really good depending what days you go out. Definitely would recommend oceana. There’s different days depending on what type of music you like.

Halls are not too far away from the uni which is great, I'd recommend the private halls over the standard ones. Depending which department you're in you'll be lucky to get two or more good lecturers. Personally I feel I only had one who was good and the rest were rubbish with one even making mistakes in class and the students having to correct them over and over again.
