York is such a beautiful city to live in, I have never regretted moving here not once. It’s practically overflowing with culture and festivals. I love it here!

Really love York. It is close enough to the city center to nip in but also far enough out to be quiet.

It's a really quaint historic city with loads of things to see and do and while there's not always everything you would find in a normal city in the centre there's other shipping centres on the outskirts that are only a quick bus ride away.

York is the best student city without a doubt. Its the perfect size and we have a few clubs and loads of pubs. Its also a really cute city and really safe. Theres touristy things to do when your parents visit and fun things to do with ur pals. Best decision ive ever made was going to uni of york. Unis close enough to town you can walk or theres a bus as well also pretty cheap compared to down south

I love it here. Shopping is so easy, everything within walking distance! Nights out are also so cheap, all you need is £10-20! You can also walk from clubs to get home (make sure you’re in a group!!!) as the clubs within walking distance of everything

Good variety of clubs and bars to choose from. There is always student events, prices are cheap and the atmosphere is friendly. Plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy a good day out. York has many unique tourist attractions including the art gallery, train museum and castle. YSJ accommodation is very close to the city center. I can’t fault it.

Good night out, friendly place. Would recommend anyone coming here as a student. Student accommodation isn’t too bad though rather expensive. Houses in the area are fairly similar to students as in the rest of the country.

good variety of nights out and an endless list of pubs, many with their own quirks. plenty of shops for retail needs and there are often markets near the shambles too. only con is that drinks can get quite expensive.

Campus is only a twenty minute walk or a cheap, ten minute bus journey from town. Both campuses are lovely, and York city is historical and beautiful. There are plenty of shops as well as a large network of buses going to surrounding cities, the coast and York’s retail outlets. Most places offer student discounts, including the museums! Town is also filled with cute cafes and restaurants, as well as a pub for every day of the year. The night life is much better than you may think, there are some great, cheap bars and plenty of clubs.

Nights out are fun, not too rowdy just a decent chill night. Location is amazing, York is a beautiful place, everything is close together. The uni is easy to get around. People are okay everyone keeps to themselves that's no drama.

Decent location, nearby village with forner shop and york isnt too far away. Regular taxi service to the campus and transport to uni is easily accessible

Lovely historical city, at first I didn't think I would enjoy the area as thought it would be too quiet, however moving here has totally changed my opinion

Great city with plenty to see and do. Never a dull moment and seems to have just the right amount of everything.

The university isn’t in the centre of town so nights out aren’t on you’re doorstep but there is the cheapest bus ever which comes every 10 minutes. There are loads of little shops you chose from including an Aldi which isn’t dead cheap and great for a student budget. The town hasn’t great clothes shopping as well as there being a designer shopping outlet.

York has a beautiful town, full of all the shops you could want. If there are some missing for you, there is the designer outlet 2-3 miles from town and Leeds just a 20 minutes train away. There are 2 cinemas in the town centre. You can take a ghost tour and visit the many pubs. The night life is ok, probably not the best but it’s enough for a student. Although it’s not a ‘dress-up’ kind of night life. The value for money is good considering it’s a lovely town, less expensive than the south although more expensive than other areas in Yorkshire. The accommodation is fairly pricey... but you save money on travel since everywhere is accessible by walking or by bike. But there is an excellent bus service that is frequent with friendly bus drivers which is rather novel.

nights out are poor if you like big clubs but easy to get to leeds. bars are good, especially stone roses. some cheap places to drink and eat if u look hard but touristy places are expensive.

York is a lovely place, slightly slower pace of life than a big city. Lots of good beer and coffee, but not the most going on here.

shopping is good. could be larger shops. more transport options. less noise. cheaper takeaways, nightlife is pretty good but very expensivr

A lot of culture in York with multiple museums. Also a lot of great places to eat out and shop. The clubs are nicely spread across the city

Nights out are quality short walks no need for taxis with cheap drinks and cheap takeaways all over the place loads of options for clubs or pub all with cheap drinks on student nights. Shopping is simple short walk to a supermarket or a walk into town if your not looking for food. Loads of tourist attractions in york the dungeon and minster are pretty cool and there are loads of other thing close by to do as well. The value for money is really good as well once you get to know where to shop as york can be expensive if you don’t know what you are doing or where to go but it only takes afew days to learn as it is relatively small but has so much to offer.
