York is a beautiful anf historic city, the people are friendly and there a loads of great restaurants, 365 pubs, sights to see, museums, and an array of shops. The nightlife is good for someone that prefers bars to clubs, as there are only a small handfull of nightclubs but they're all pretty different to eachother.

The Atmosphere is amazing in York, everyone is so friendly and the streets are always buzzing with life. York St. John uni is directed in the heart of York so the town is thriving with creativity from current and past students. The nightlife is amazing, there are plenty of clubs and offers for drinks especially with having slug and lettuce on our doorstep for 241 24 hours a day. It's brilliant!! The value for money is okay, some things are more expensive than others depending how close to the city centre you are but it's expected as it's a tourist city. So many great places to eat and to spend time with loved ones and solely enjoying a fabulous day out.

The city is beautiful. With both universities being near the city centre it's a busy student area, with many shops and great pubs and clubs. Everything is reasonably priced for the location.

York is one of the best places to study - amazing night life, awesome food and the best shopping streets. Coming from a small town, I love being at university in the city, it's an experience that I would recommend to anyone.

York is a lovely place to live or visit. Many bars clubs and pubs, good for nights out and hen and stag dos often come here .It having two universities means clubs are also good, nightlife is York is good but feels safe. Because it isn't a massive city it doesn't feel dangerous or unsafe. Lots of restaueants and things to do, it's better to visit during the week because weekend are very busy in town with many tourists. The Christmas market is good but small and predictable. It's expensive to live here but shopping and eating out is an average price.

York is a beautiful historical city where you notice something beautiful each time you walk round the town. It's a perfect student city as it is a big enough city that it has everything you could need, but small enough that it won't overwhelm you. There is plenty of retailers, food places, and is only a short train journey from bigger places such as Leeds and Manchester.

A city with a proper "home" feel about it - it's got a bit of everything; shopping, clubs and top restaurants.

York is a very beautiful city. Coming from London it was much smaller, prettier and less congested than I was used to and I grew to love it. While my time at the university wasn't the best, the city's friendly people, cobbled streets and attractions mean I still consider York a second home. The night life is not the best, I won't lie. There are cheesy student nights, RnB nights that are ok but not exciting and pop nights that I wanted to avoid. Vudu Lounge is a shout but if you want a proper night out, be prepared to travel to Leeds.

York is a lovely tourist city, and I feel privaliged to call it home whilst at uni. The only downfall is in terms of shopping and the nightlife. It seems York is full of lovely bars but they come with expensive prices too so not great for the student budget. Nevertheless, the student houses are great and suburban and it's easy to get around.

When I came for an open day, I fell in love with York. The place oozes adventure and history. Whilst living here I've had plenty of adventures. The nights out are amazing, depending on what you want, there's plenty on offer. Cheaper places for those who need to budget, and fancier places for those looking to spoil themselves. One thing I've also discovered about York is the vast array of food on offer. There's Burger places, sushi places, bar and grills, tapas places, Chineses, Turkish food, Gurka places, Indians, Hummus bars, Pancake houses. It's endless and all so delicious! You'll never be short of somewhere to go.

York is a fantastic city to live in, there is so much to do for all ages. There's a variety of shops to shop at, there's tourist attractions, plenty of restaurants and 365 pubs. Not to mention evil eye, the best bar in york. York also has very good night clubs and night outs in york always end with amazing memories. There's boat rides within york as well as the walls which when walked round provide you with amazing views of the city. The minister is also another big attraction in york which welcomes many tourists as it's an exciting place to go.

York is a beautiful and quaint city with so much character. It is a perfect student city with 2 universities both in and out of the city. There is a lot to do for students and there is a pub for every day of the year. Ideal for students! York is lovely to roam around and has such safe and friendly environment.

York is the best place to study small city with enough stuff to go and do. Nights out are pretty much full of life and crazyness with one bar slash night club that's a church with amazing cocktails one I would recommend is ice martini. Shopping is pretty good too you have Topshop and Harry potter shops on the stables strip. There are plenty of cafes and places to eat even a nandos.

Nights out are a good laugh - never feel in danger and standard annoying people are fewer than I'm used to. Food is v good, lots and lots of choice. Value for money is decent

Wonderful blend of history, tourism and life, whilst still feeling small and quant. Whilst not having the vastness of cities like London or Manchester, for me its the perfect mixture of loud and quiet.

Loads to see and do. Nights out are good and loads of places to eat. The markets are good, and the shambles is a nice walk

York is a great city to be at while at university there are tonnes of shops and a wide mixture of café and restaurants. The nightlife isn't the best I've experienced however there are lots of clubs bars and pubs.

Great attractions to view during the day, whether that be with your family or individually. Fairly decent clubs for a night out too, avoid fibbers!! There's always something wrong with fibbers, from no air con and it been way too hot to leaks in the building.

Lovely calm town with plenty of sceneic areas and sightseeing. Highstreet shopping is becoming sparse but there are fantastic pubs and boutiques.

York is a beautiful historic city with plenty of places to eat or just spend a day in the shambles. While nightlife is a little quieter than other cities there's plenty of trendy bars to spend an evening in.
