I just think everything is great in this town, but some of the restaurants are just expensive for a student. I will be very happy if I'll get this tastecard. I would enjoy more to go out with my friends and I'll do not make any problems that something will be so expensive.

Sheffield Hallam university's area is good but accommodation is better for University of Sheffield. You must go to mall if you want to shop 'properly'.

Lots of places to eat and drink in close proximity. Good for shopping. Lovely Christmas market with pop up bars. Sometimes can be poor for parking but great bus access and public transport, also easy to catch a taxi.

My experience of Sheffield up untill now has been absolutely fantastic. The city is small enough that you can travel around and big enough so that you don't run out of places to go and things to see. Although being up north it has a diverse range of ethinicity which allow students to become more multicultural and adapt to new kinds of people who they may be less familiar being around. There are a variety of bars and clubs which cater to all types of people with their individual preferences to nights out and music. There are a wide variety of restaurants both in city centre, Meadowhall and Centertainment however does lack quality Indian restaurants, although you do get value for money for what you eat compared to London prices for example. With continuously growing student accomidatins, Sheffield's student life is getting bigger and has more things to do.

Sheffield is such a nice city has lots of parks, green areas, clean environment and streets lovely people, cool and cozy places (cafes, restaurants, pubs...). On the other hand, nightlife is not that good unfortunately. Mostly pubs close, prties finish at 3 AM and cafes close at 5 or 6 PM. When i go out with friends it is kinda disturbing problem. About transportation, it is really good just sometimes bus hours are not correct on the internet. Thanks!

I love living in Sheffield because everything you need is here but everywhere you can get to by walking. There are loads of great pubs and restaurants that are not too expensive. The Moore market is great if you want to find a bargain and there are all the usual high street shops. I also love going to the Light cinema, its modern and comfy and the prices are better than vue or cine world plus it is right in the centre of town. Only negative of Sheffield is that some areas are a bit run down but lots of building is going on so hopefully will be nicer in a couple of years.

In Sheffield there is loads to do from student bars to Meadowhall shopping. It's easy to get to because it has a bug train station and when you're already there it's easy to get around because it has constantly running trams and buses.

Sheffield is one of the friendliest cities you could possibly find in the UK. It may not always seem like much is going on but if you dig beneath the surface a little bit you can always find something new and exciting to dig your teeth into.

The city has a lot to offer. There is a great range of shops and, if you want more, you can jump on the supertram and go to the Meadowhall shopping centre. As well as this, there is something for everyone. You can watch shows at the Crucible theatre and, at the moment, you can get involved in a range of Christmas activities, including; the markets, fairground rides and events. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars and everything is within walking distance.

Great city - there's a good reason why most students stick around after they graduate! Plenty of things to do - busy nightlife and very good value for money. Be prepared for lots of hill climbing...

Great city, not intimidating for people who aren't used to cities. Train station, shops and restaurants are in close range to Sheffield hallam university.

Great nights out in west street and in the SU, good shops, especially if you are willing to go out to Meadowhall, lots to do, and the peaks is just a cheap (£1.20) bus ride away for a good weekend of walking, and great cheap pints!

Lots of choice in regards to food and clubs, shopping is great in Sheffield but also with the added option of going to Meadowhall which has more, only 6 minutes away on the train. Great student city!

Bwfore arriving to Sheffield I did not know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. The city has a uniform feeling of the metal industry that it once ones with it's brick houses and industrial buildings. There is plenty of green places for you to visit and take a picknik or play some ball. The city has a huge amount and choice of cuisine with restaurants providing foods from all over the world. There are also alot of small and cozy cafeeswhere you can have the best brunches and afternoon teas. For the one that likes nightlife there is a variety of bars and clubs offering dofferent theme parties and music styles, you can get the best coctails at the revolution de Cuba! If you are fast enough you can get 2-4-1 coctails in many places. There are many good study places with cafes, warm rooms and comfortable seat, Information Commons being the best. Sheffield truly has it all for everyone. It is however a loud student city but has alot of things to do for everyone, from hiking, shopping, clubbing and exploring. It is also a very kind and welcoming city.

Sheffield is a great place to explore and I just just mean all it's wonderful greenery, considering it's one of Europe's greenest cities, the shops, the awesome art galleries etc but also all the other cultures it has to offer. The city is rich in a diverse range of cultures and helps you to get unloved in that, for instance, a trip to More Market will open your mind to new food and new culture. Not to mention the wonderful people of Sheffield, everyone I have spoken to about how to get somewhere, where is the right bus stop, how I work the teams etc has always been super happy to help. As well as that, they are very appreciative of students and how they can be an asset to the local community, for example there are so many volunteering projects to get involved in like visiting old people's home, fundraisers, primary schools etc. Overall, Sheffield isn't just a great place to be, it's a great place to be a person during a period of our lives that revolves around discovery.

There's a lot more going on in Sheffield that .people realise, with a quality night out. However, for the size it is, there isn't really that much variety of things to do, other than eating and drinking.

Absolutely amazing city, everyone is so friendly! Was there for a weekend and just loved it. It is a proper Northern city, but the people are just lovely. Everyone should experience the Sheffield way of life. It was easy to get around, lots of things to do and loads of places to eat!

Map Sheffield, located in South Yorkshire, England, is both a major industrial city and one of the greenest cities in the UK. TripAdvisor travelers particularly recommend the Sheffield Winter Garden and the Botanical Garden. After dark, you'll find a lively bar and club scene, a testimony to the town's large student population.

I personally believe Sheffield is a very scenic and well organised place. There's always plenty of places to eat from posh restaurants to culteral places such as chinese and also fast food places such as McDonalds. There's also plenty of shops to always wander around and so many great sights to see.

Sheffield is a great city, there's lots to do including many restaurants and shops in the city centre. There's a wide variety of places to eat for example in Leopold square. Also nightlife is great as there's lots of nightclubs to choose from. Around Christmas time there are Christmas markets in the city centre which are very popular. Sheffield also has good music venues for gigs.

Sheffield is a gorgeous place to live and has alot going on if you know what you're looking for and where to look for it. Durinf the day there are loads of places to eat out and although the shops arent the biggest you can always get the tram out to meadowhall which they make very easy because it goes directly there. As for nightlife there is everything from cheesy bars to decent event locations, and all genres of music.
