Very quiet and dull city. Everything is overpriced and poor value. The nightlife is poor compared to Birmingham, and there's just not a lot to do here. Transport in and out of Derby is also overly priced.

Derby is a wonderful city that makes for a lovely home away from home. It's a nice inbetween of not too loud and not too quiet. The majority of people you meet in derby are lovely, approachable and helpful individuals. I would recommend anyone that hasn't visited the city should do so, as I'm sure they would enjoy themselves.

Derby is a compact and convenient city. There’s plenty of nice restaurants and bars up Sadler gate and friar gate aswell as a great selection within the Intu shopping centre. Nightlife is good especially student nights. The bars are current and play the best music. Shopping is also nice with a range of high street shops such as Topshop and Newlook, aswell as independent shops.

Derby is what I'm used to so it's home to me. It's not the best city ever, but there are worse places.

Although geographically Derby covers a wide area, the city centre is fairly compact which allows for easy access to necessary places without travelling far. The transport routes are very good, on time, varied and the majority are reasonably priced, especially fot students or if travelling within a group. Nights out can be busy and sometimes a little tacky, depending on where you go, however there are also some nice, more sophisicated places to go which can result in a good relaxed night out. Places to eat out are varied and plenty, as are takeaways. The city is also fairly historical with some nice places to visit as a "tourist". The intu allows for a wide shopping experience with everything needed in one centre. Entertainment is on hand with 2 theatres, the arena and many smaller venues with a variety of shows/performances.

Derby is a good city and there's quite a lot going on. It's also a cheap bus ride away from Nottingham which has a really good night life. However derby isn't perfect and there are a few homeless people that are quite annoying.

nights out aren't great as there only a few good nightclubs with nice bouncers, food and shopping is really the highlight with eat central being great and open til late. the cinema is nice too, but outside of intu there's really not much to do.

As Derby is a small city the majority would expect it to be limiting in terms of what it offers however this is not the case. There are a variety of different restaurants and bars scattered around the city and outskirts providing students with food that is certainly worth its money. Although the night life could be improved, the petite city means you are most certainly going to bump into someone when you are out making your night! As Derby is situated close to the Peak District and other small peaceful rural towns it allows students to have down time and take breaks from their studies. Additionally, as it is situation in the centre of the country it makes for an easy accessible city if you want to travel to other cities.

Derby is an alright city, small with everyday kind of people. The transport system is like the normal system anywhere in the UK, different busses different locations. The Uni bus is free which Is a bonus. Nights out for me anyway are not that great except it's a house party but when it comes to food and shopping you've got a bit of a range.

The nights out could be improved, as there are only a few places to go and the student union is not open for nights out. There is a massive shopping centre in town which is just a walk away, and there's many things to do within a close distance. However, in some places the drinks on nights out are quite expensive. There is a very useful free bus taking you from town, to the train station or the main university.

Nightclubs are on the smaller side and I'm getting fed up of hearing 'Boom boom boom boom I want you in my room' on repeat in Popworld. The choice of food, however is brilliant and good value for money. It's a shame that public transport is limited and not very accessible unless you get a taxi which can be expensive. For a smaller city, the range of shops and retail in Derby is outstanding. Overall entertainment I'd say is fairly good, there's activities like bowling, snooker and mini golf that are on offer, however availability is limited and it can be costly.

Derby is a busy city, it isn't huge but there's plenty to do. The shopping centre is great. There are lots of restaurants varying in price and a good variety of shops in the intu as well as the showcase cinema, bowling and mini golf. The best cinema in Derby is probably the odeon luxe in the meteor retail park, it's new, comfortable and good value for money but it can be very busy. There isn't a huge variety for nights out but the Thomas leader Wetherspoons is very good for a cheap and cheerful night out on the weekend playing very good music.

The place here is lovely and there is a lot to do in the day and the night. With a large shopping centre thay will suit everyone's needs. Derby is the place to go. I moved here for uni and don't want to move away.

The town is great for shopping in my opinion, easily accessible and plenty of buses to get there from uni campuses. The town could do with a revamp especially the small independent shops that run outside before you go into the Intu. However the intu itself is great, looks good and has plenty of shopping options.

derby is a city that's very alive in terms of what you can do. Town is close to the Uni and the halls of residence, as well as to many other student accomodations that aren't associated with the Uni. There's a huge intu centre for shopping with a food court that serves food from places like subway, burger king, KFC, Yo sushi and more so there's always a place to go. just outside the intu is places like Primark, Disney store, and Mcdonalds. Nights out are the best in derby. Wetherspoons is open until 1am whilst clubs are open until 3am. most clubs you can get into for free or at discounted prices if you follow their social medias derby overall is a cheap city to live in with a lot to offer students.

Derby is a small city in overall, but you can meet a lot of different people here mostly because of University of Derby student cummunity and their social activities. Round city there is wide range of pubs including wheatherspoons -best value for money.Couple cozy nightclubs there as well. Main shopping centre is Intu Derby, but also there is some nice botiques (expensive). Most exiting things to is ice rink before Christmas, for the entertaiment big cinema de lux (intu centre) and Jaxx Derby for playing snooker, pool, darts and wathing sports on a big screen. Derby also have couple leisure centres just off city centre it self to keep yourself fit and saving on costs.

Derby has a few quirky bars in friar gate, and food for everyone whether it be Caribbean or Vegan, it’s relish. However as much as it tries to bring an upmarket crowd, derby tends to feel dangerous at night. So if you want to enjoy derby, make sure you grab a mate and head out for some 2-1 cocktails.

The uni is good, however location is lacking night life, places for student go to eat/drink generally just socialise. Nothing in the surrounding areas needs to be more accommodating
