Birmingham is an incredible place to be for any student. With UoB, BCU and Aston all within close proximity, the city is filled with students and so much for students to do e.g. Bull Ring shopping, Broad St nightlife etc. The great railway lines make it incredibly easy to get around, especially for those students who do not wish to bring a car with them to Uni. It’s central location also means no city is too far away, great if you do not want to be that far from your home town

So much to do in Birmingham; amazing night life, coffee shops, restaurants, shopping opportunities, cocktail places, cute walks along the canals. Always something to do and if you're on a budget you can still find something.

As the second biggest city in the UK, Birmingham has everything you could be looking for including shops, clubs and restaurants.

The nightlife in Birmingham is far better than I expected. There is a lot to do is birmingham you will never be bored because there’s always something going on. My favourite is broad street and the bullring for shopping! I love that the uni is so close to everything also.

Good city there are lots of shops and extra activities and trains are great and that’s easy to get around but traffic is awful so driving and buses take ages. Bham has a bad rep but nights out re usually good but very expensive on the weekend so

great food, shopping and nightlife spots nearby. Always plenty to do around the city centre and broad street.

There are a wide variety of foods, including a mini chinatown, a variety of resturants at the bullring which is also fantastic for shopping. The transport is great too since the train station is in the heart of the city.

Birmingham is a huge city and there are many areas I'm yet to explore. The nightlight is great, there are loads of clubs, especially along the road called broad street. Most nights there will be a student night being held at one club or another meaning you don't have to spend too much money! The city centre is packed with lovely restaurants and shops. The best area to go is most likely the bullring as there's a huge choice of outlets.Birmingham as a whole is quite a cheap city, a lot cheaper than back at home for me at least! I highly recommend it as a city!!

Aston University is in the heart of Birmingham and lies within a 5-minute walk of the main city centre. Close to shops, restaurants and nightlife, there is always something to do!

There is lots of cheap transport to get into the main city of Birmingham. The student area, selly oak, has lots of shops that are relevant and useful for all students from all backgrounds. There are easy links to the main train station which can take you anywhere you want. There is also an airport nearby allowing internationals to easily arrive and students to visit other countries cheaply and easily.

My university is in Birmingham. It has a great location as it right next to a shopping centre and a massive train station. It’s in the heart of the city which I love and always feel like I have something to do

The food is great, the Bullring is extremely close to the New Street station, a lot of cheap places to chill out in. Best place to be in right now

Good city, loads to do, the bull ring is a great place to do some shopping and broad street is great for clubs. Have a look at some of suburbs of Birmingham and you may even see a more varied landscape

Great university experience, if only it lasted longer. Never stuck for something to do. Great nights out 6 days a week. Eating out spoilt for choice, anything you want for any price range won't struggle to find a place. Shopping is completely covered with the bullring. Amazing transport links with trains / uber / buses / canal networks for cycling or walking. Very well priced location to say its the second largest city in England, even living outside of the main city centre the transport links make up for it, meaning you are able to pay less and still enjoy city living. Overall i would say its one of the most exciting cities I have been to with plenty to offer for all.

Living in Selly Oak is ideal, if has all of the necessary shops required for student life, as well as pubs and only being 10 minutes from uni.
