The campus buildings are quite old fashioned and ugly, and central hall is a bit of an eyesore but overall I think the campus is beautiful, I like the fact that the lake is the central feature and Greg’s Place is lovely to sit in when it’s sunny. I study mathematics and I enjoy this course mainly, however I’m not sure the university dealt with the strikes in the best way. I don’t enjoy the way they deal with final year projects as well because I feel like they throw us in the deep end with no experience and expect us to know what to do. I enjoy being a part of this university and the student union do organise some enjoyable events, such as the summer ball and Roses events.

Studied psychology in education - good course if you want to go into educational psychology. Lecturers are helpful, good library facilities, halls are good

The university offers first class teaching which is delivered flexibly with additional academic and vocational support available.

The University of York is a very welcoming community. Being a Russel Group University, it offers fantastic teaching with a lovely community feel which makes it easy to make friends and make the most of your degree

The campus is a nice campus, but this year there's been all year which has been a bit annoying. The facilities are mostly good, however the food on campus is very pricey considering it's supposed to be for students. I do electronic engineering, I think my course is really intense, some days we had lectures, labs and work shops that made the day 9-5 in the second term which was stressful because you're expected to study more on top of that. Overall, it's good because the quality of teaching is good. I don't really use the careers service or student union so I can't really comment but they look useful. I think this year has been a bit disorganised because of the strikes and snow.

My course is really good. You get lots of lab experience and the facilities are great. The campus is a mix of old/new buildings, so some of it isn't particularly scenic but overall it's decent.

Beautiful campus and vibrant enthusiastic student atmosphere. Nice combination of urban and rural values which is calming on the conscience and extremely aesthetically pleasing

Heslington West is a bit of a 60s Soviet Union army camp mixed with a university campus. Heslington East is much nicer, but in the middle of literally nowhere. Lots of geese everywhere though. Politics Department is cool.

The campus is pretty close to the city center, and really easy to get around. Anyone is welcome to help you whether it be for directions, computer issues, international student help (I’m an international student), and anything else you ever need! The new east campus is so beautiful, and the older campus has amazing character. The classes are sort of hard but I manage. Overall, my experience has been good with the University of York

I love york. The campus is so beautiful and s nice distance from the city and student houses. I studied PPE a which gave me the opportunity to learn lots from different disciplines and be part of the school of ppe that helped tie it all together. The sports facilities were good on campus but a bit expensive. The best part of my university experience however was definitely the college system. As a member of a college you immediately feel like a member of a family, it is so inclusive and makes freshers so much less daunting. Being in derwent gave me opportunities to join sports teams, go to college events, support college occasions all with my friends from the college too! Derwent for life

Lots of geese. They attack and bite me at least 7 times a day but they're so damn cute I don't really mind. Also has anyone mentioned we have the biggest plastic bottomed lake in Europe?

I study chemistry at York, both the facilities and staff are incredible. There is tonnes of student support and a very positive atmosphere in and around campus. Some buildings are beginning to show their age but other than that a very good university experience.

York is a very large university with a mixture of old and new buildings. As it is a collegiate uni it made meeting people very easy especially those who aren't on your course. The library is massive with different areas for those who want to work in complete silence and those who want to talk whilst working. There are two different campuses east and west. East being the newest is now becoming more student friendly with a range of shops and restaurant opening up. There is a free bus route when travelling around campus. There's lots of wildlife around university including geese and rabbits. On campus there are loads of bars and restaurants run by the SU and they are all not-for-profit.

College system is fantastic, really does feel like a community. Outstanding teaching staff and resources, requires more independent study stations as library is often full.

The best thing about York is how friendly and helpfull the lectureres are they consistently go out their way to help with any questions you might have, including you being able to knock on their office door at any time their in. Only room for improvement comes from how some lectureres go way to fast during lectures making it difficult to take notes.

It is a very beautiful university to live on and study as a part of and has good facilities spread across both campuses but it can be a very busy place and often the library can be overpopulated making it quite difficult to find study spaces at certain times of the week.

University of York is great and it's department of English particularly outstanding and supportive. However the vice chancellor has been devoid of moral judgement during the strikes which is frustrating.

I am studying history and economics and the history department is perfect, I enjoy every time that I spend on my seminars and everything bit the economics department is aweful. For example last year I was writing my exam, a closed exam and it was miswritten, some questions. And this was an exam. And also, if you're studying a mixed degree, don't wait that anyone will know what you have to study, or how the things are going, you have to find out alone. But the history is perfect, really, my best decision in my whole life that I am studying history. And also, if you like economics maybe is not that bad too, but I have aweful experiences. Also, the careers is very good, I have found a part time job with this service and they are very helpful.

The course is fantastic. It's well designed and the teaching is very good. We have had performance opportunities and coaching from professionals, as well as having lots of careers events.

Fantastic university! Amazing East campus and dependable bus routes into town. The night life is also brilliantly organised focused on student satisfaction.

The campus has a great buzz around it during the day. Most of the facilities on campus are great as they’re just a walk away.

Really pretty campus, easy to access everywhere on site as it’s within walking distance. The collegiate system is really good as it makes you feel part of a family
