This is a free society so, of course, is excellent value for money! Aside the separate societies for Philosophy and for Literature, the Phil-Lit society is run by a small exec of students on the joint degree, myself included as the new co-President. We’re a cosy, smaller society so a lot of our socials are joined with the Philosophy society or the Literature society, mostly the latter who tend to do Wednesday Pop! circles witha fancy dress theme, Leamington bar crawls, and club nights in general. We offer a welcoming atmosphere for anyone who appreciates the two disciplines, not only for those on the course. Our activities include frequent socials, revision sessions in the run up to exams, and other socials we are planning such as a Museum crawl, and the Phil-Lit weekender. The latter trip has been brought back just last year, with the society going to Swansea during the Christmas break to read ghost stories amongst the snowfall, explore, and cook together in a cabin in the national park with the Phil-Lit conveners accompanying us. This next academic year (18/19) we are looking at continuing this trip, but to a different location depending on what takes the most interest. It’s a wonderful way to get closer to people of similar interests, of course mates that come along. Communication is great as we publish on our Facebook group, Instagram page, twitter page, and also advertise on the Facebook pages for the Philosophy society and Literature society, and their freshers pages. We provide any equipment needed ourselves such as food, drinks, books, picnic blankets...
