The campus is spread out and integrated within the local areas in Sheffield, with easy access to the parks nearby and the Moor. The facilities are incredible, large spaces available to study although they're always relatively filled with students at all hours in the day.

Excellent university with a brilliant student union. Hundreds of societies to join to keep you entertained in between working hard.

My experience at the University of Sheffield has greatly developed my personal skills as well as my knowldege. The environment the university creates is a fun and safe one where all can thrive. The university buildings in my department are always clean and well lit, making them good places for study. The libraries are well stocked with an incredible number of resources and study spaces, although it does get busy in exam season making the areas more crowded and it is harder to get a seat. The students union is phenomenal; there are mutiple places to eat and drink during the week, along with various nights out every week including the very popular Tuesday Club and Poptarts, plus a sports society night on Wednesdays. The nights out have a variety of drinks from beer to spirirts to non-alcoholic drinks like pepsi etc. all very reasonably priced. The SU also offers a wide range of resources to help students, from careers support for students at all stages to 24/7 helplines for mental health and other problems students may be facing. The sports program at sheffield is also incredible, with many high performing sports teams. This includes the brand new facility built at the universitys sport centre, Norton playing fields; the two brand new 4G pitches have been completed for use by Rugby, hockey, american football and other sports. However, this is one area where sheffield could improve: funding for sports teams is very poor and the sports teams require further support and resources from the university. In my opinion, sport is a fundamental part of peoples weekly routine and university team sports are a brilliant setting for this activity. Therefore I feel the university sports teams should be granted further funding and resources to enable them to thrive and excel to their potential. The gym at Goodwin is also quite expensive for the facilities offered. For the price charged and the number of students the gym is available to, it could do with serious expansion and refurbishment.

The University of Sheffield offers an amazing student experience. The student union is great and innovative.

The campus is located in a very nice area. I study law and I am very pleased with the organsation of the course. The Student Union is always very helpful and excited to help us with our needs.

Everything is very close together, it is very well organised and very high quality lectures. the whole experience is very enjoyable and i recomend to anyone. the mathematics course is exciting and again i highly recommend it.

The university has a lot of buildings and they are close to everything like shops, city centre. The student union is excellent, you can find a lot of information there and there is always something happening there - fun events. The university has a lot of societies and wide range of courses. It's more practical though.

The University of Sheffield is an amazing place to live and learn. The courses are of a very high standard and the campus and people are even better. You get the best of both worlds with sheffield, as you get to live in a big city but with a quiet town feel. Don't get me wrong though, the nightlife is fantastic!!!

The University of Sheffield is known for being one of the best for student experience. With its student union being voted as number one is the country consecutively for many years and the current students being extremely friendly, it’s the perfect place for a prospective student to fit in. The university is also known for having one of the best accommodation services for the cost and one of the best support systems for students who are struggling with all things from university work to living in university. I would highly recommend The University of Sheffield as a top choice.

Sheffield University is unlike any other universities. It automatically made me feel like a part of the local community due to its brilliant location with all the cheap and super efficient city centre. As for the facilities around the university, everything is always in great condition and in constant observation for newest and better upgrades. This can easily can be seen through the development of our Student Union building apart from other buildings. Not to mention about the career services and the organisation, it is amazing! The staff are very friendly and most importantly, very helpful to whatever needs I had. This might seem a little like a staged review but as an international student and is listed as disabled student. I have experienced a lot of the services provided with almost none complexity and given a lot of chances to be a great individual.

The university is one of the best in the country. Amazing accomodation and the number one student accomodation what more could you ask for! The lectures are really good and interactive and there are very good facilities in the university.

Sheffield university has exceeded all my expectations in what it offers, from the tuition to the nightlife, this place really cares about the individuals it produces! The students union is number 1 in the country for a reason and continues to strive to be better. From pastoral care to extra activities the union aims to have something for everyone.

The campus is fairly centrally located not far from the city centre and other great places such as bars, restaurants and cute shops. The student union itself is a great place to be and in first year I found myself in the SU a lot because of its good lunch options and general buzz. My course itself is also so enjoyable too.

The campus itself has amazing buildings and facitilities, with the students union being absolutely incredible! I found my course to be excellent, amazing teaching and so friendly!

Studying at the University of Sheffield has been a very rewarding and enjoyable experience. The campus has a mixture of architecture, old and new. The student union is very useful, with shops and cafes with anything you might need. Similarly, the university facilities shops/cafes are fantastic at providing vegetarian/vegan food, Better than most regular shops. The only thing there is to complain about is the lack of space in library facilities. Overall, it is a very good university, with great facilities

The university is inclusive of every Me and triensto promote student welfare as much as it does the academic side. Whilst it prides itself on being a Russel group university, it also has the best SU in the country! I couldn’t reccomend the univetdity more, it’s got s great location, amazing staff and a really good vibe.

Fantastic students union voted the best in the UK for the past 9 years. Great student city. Facilities at the university are really modern with new investments such as the Diamond and the Information Commons. There are also lots of opportunities to work part time, especially for the university. These roles are also quite flexible and pay well and I would highly recommend either mentoring or being a student ambassador! Overall it’s a very international environment which I absolutely loved meeting people from all around the world!

Campus is great, things are close together so easy to move between things. SU is particularly good. Great facilities in the day and great nights out throughout the week.

the mathematics course is very good and interesting and all staff members are very helpful, is very well run and organise and the workload is perfect. I would highly recommend it.

As I am international student from Malaysia, coming to UK to study is really a good idea. The facilities and technology are wayy better compared to my country. I love how everything is fast, reliable and perfect. I love the student union’s. The course that I take is chemical engineering. The syllabus is well divided, not too much work, not too little. I think choosing sheffield uni is my best decision.

Brilliant! The student accommodation is perfect and the campus is huge! Though it’s rather pricey it’s still definitely worth going or aim towards going!

The Student Union is the centre for student services and activities throughout the university. As well as the general shops and a bank, the Union contains a Student Advice Centre providing support and a sympathetic ear to any student in difficulties. There are also several food and drink outlets. After stopping at the Copy Shop to get your essay printed, or the Jobshop for some advice on part time work in the city or arranging a placement, you can head over to Bar One to have a drink with your mates and watch the sports on its big screen TVs. Students are offered a lot of extracurricular activities. More than 250 societies meet around the campus and city, including Creative Writing, War Games, Knitting, faith-based groups, and a large Sports Committee. Besides this there are RAG (‘Raising and Giving’ events throughout the year to encourage students to raise money for charitable causes. Past events have included a treasure hunt, bungee jump and night hike. Students in Sheffield will also enjoy the relatively low cost of living, compared to other major UK cities.
