When I moved into university halls I had a massive car full of things, I made my flat homely by having a theme / colour scheme and I focused most on my bedding as that's important to me. Freshers week was full of lots of drinking and socialising with many people. I had the best time and met loads of lovely people. The events were great and an easy way to meet people who live around you. However I didn't enjoy the hangovers the following mornings!! A useful tip for freshers week is if you share a bathroom, make sure you have a sick bucket incase you've drank too much. This way you're not disrupting the rest of your flat mates.‚

I Loved this year's freshers week. My friends and I didn't get a wristband so we literally just listened out for what sounded like it would bang and went to those events. We managed to go out every single night. It was so live!! Obviously it will cost you more in the long run but with wrist band events only 2 or 3 of them bang so you'll probably run out of psyche mid-week. I would know, I'm in my third year.

The university made it as simple as possible moving in, with plenty of staff available to assist getting signed up, registered, and settled into accommodation. Where possible try and pack less when moving in. Try and survive on minimal personal belongings as don’t forget... you’ll be moving out before you know it. If you’re not a fan of the kerfuffle of finding a house to stay in over the summer, or have plans to go home anyway, try splitting the cost of a personal self storage unit with a friend in a similar situation. You’ll save heaps over the summer. (I got my stuff securely stored for only 100 pounds for the whole summer holiday, with delivery included to my next house. Divided by 2 that’s a no brainer.

Freshers week had a wide range of events on for students and catered to everyone’s tastes, there were multiple events on every night for the full week ! I attended the birdcage glow party which I thought was great fun , the dress code was relaxed and everyone had glow sticks and glow paint the atmosphere was amazing !
