Many courses offer a year in industry, giving you the chance to work full-time for an employer. You can also gain hands-on experience through work placements, industry masterclasses and live briefs, where students work in teams to deliver solutions for real clients.

The university's state-of-the-art facilities include the £3 million Bodmer Laboratory, the £55 Arts and Media building, healthcare simulation suites, and a campus at MediaCityUK, where students work side by side with media professionals at the BBC and ITV.

Nightlife

Salford and Manchester are full of places just waiting to be discovered. Live music is everywhere, from big-name venues like the O2 Apollo to indie spaces like Soup Kitchen. Top cultural spots include HOME, a centre for art, theatre and film. If you're into food, you can find almost every type of cuisine in cafes or award-winning restaurants. Halls of Residence

Living on campus is a great way to immerse yourself in student life. Peel Park Quarter is a thriving student village in the heart of Salford's campus. It offers affordable luxury with rooms that include a desk, chair, double bed and storage. John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts are perfect if you're studying nursing or a health related course. It's a short walk from campus or a free bus ride from MediaCityUK.

Salford is part of Greater Manchester, a thriving, diverse city-region in the north-west of England. Our main campus is just 2km from Manchester city centre, and our MediaCityUK campus shares a skyline with the BBC and ITV.

Clubs and Societies

Once you register at the University of Salford you'll automatically become a member of Students'Union. This is run by and for students, and offers over 50 student-led societies covering all kinds of activities and causes.

Freshers' week

The University of Salford's welcome week offers something to suit all tastes. It's a great opportunity to make new friends, get know your way around the campus, take part in welcome week activities and meet your tutors.
