Ultimate Frisbee

As a player of this club for 4.5 years I can say that as a club they struggle from lack of funds by rusu and lack of advertisement as no one has heard of the sport. Even though all of this they have gone to indoor division 1 three times while I have been there. Gone to women's outdoor nationals and mixed nationals aswell as men getting to division 1 indoor nationals. Even though rusu has only just recognised them as a sport , they are still hard working teams and still achieving great things!

Great social society! I joined because I wanted to try a completely new and random club and I have never looked back! Because everyone is new, everyone starts at the same level so there’s no expectation that you have to be good straight away. There could be more awareness about the society because it’s not widely understood that it’s a competitive sports society within the university and in general but our teams have competed at regionals and nationals around the UK. Would definitely recommend Readings Ultimate Frisbee society!

I've been actively playing this sport for about 4 years, and I can say that having joined the university club, I have improved tremendously, and made lots of friends in between! The club would head over to Park Bar (an eatery/bar on campus) every Wednesday evening after training, and this gives everyone opportunity to have fun and socialise after a great game. Committee members regularly update the Facebook group so everyone is aware of the upcoming competitions/training opportunities available. Practising indoor (in one of the gym halls) is also always as fun as playing outdoors! Plus, we've got a coach that guides and teaches us new strategies weekly which is great! University of Reading's team also plays with Reading Ultimate, which is an external group of qualified players which I join regularly to keep learning about the game, as well as meeting more people. Overall, I've gained lots of experience, made lots of mistakes, but had lots of fun and enjoyed my time with different people sharing the same passion as I do!
