Lacrosse

This club has provided the majority of my friends and social life at uni. I've had a great time training and competing with some of my closest friends at uni. There's a more chilled out training session for those who want to be more social members and there's a more intense session in a different day for those wanting to play in the team. I've felt very welcome in this club and despite starting uni having never touched a lacrosse stick, I'm now happily playing for the women's 1st team and loving it! This club is not just about training though as we meet up after every training session for a hang out and chat. It's really not segregated at all and the men's and women's teams are very close and get on really well; something I've really valued as it has allowed me the opportunity to have close male friends which is something not always easily done. All in all I've had a great time so far at the lacrosse club and I can't wait to continue there!

I've had a great time playing for the lacrosse club this year. There's a variety of training depending on whether you want to be a social member and have a bit of fun or whether you want to play for the first team. Everyone great son so well and so many of my closest friends come from this club. I know that I would have so many less friends and so much less fun at uni had I not joined lacrosse. Despite training hard, we're also a very social club, meeting up after training sessions to hang out and catch up and we have loads of organised socials too! However, there's no pressure to do anything you don't feel comfortable doing and anyone is welcome! At this club, the men's and women's teams are really close which has allowed me to have a large number of close male friends, something I've really valued at uni. This year our club has been hugely successful, the women's team won our league and came second in the cup and the men also came second in their cup. We also won university club of the year! All in all, I've had a great time at this club and can't wait for another year!
