University of Northumbria at Newcastle

I think my university is great. The campus has a simple layout, with signs and maps to help if you get a bit lost. There are several cafes around campus, a subway and the student union bar which all serve hot and cold food at really affordable prices. The student union is great for a cheap pint and on big events like st Patrick's day, but they're not great at advertising what they've got going on day to day e.g when they have live bands on. My course is Criminology and Sociology and I love it. I enjoy having two disciplines as I feel they compliment each other. I would prefer if there was more range on the criminology side of the course, it is very focused on the criminal justice system and it would be nice to look at something a bit different. Overall, my experience at Northumbria has been brilliant. University can be a difficult time and there have been times where I've struggled, but there is so much help available. There's a 24/7 desk in the library (also open 24/7) and counsellors within university that can help with a whole range of things. Northumbria has been amazing.

The first time I went around to explore the campus, I was left shocked. It was nothing like I was expecting, but at the same time, everything I wanted to see. The Law and Business faculty, along with the Library, are where I spend most of my time because they help me stay focus. My course (LLB Law) is a tough one for sure, and for an international student things are a little bit harder, but I am trying my hardest to succeed. I really want to succeed. It is a very organised university, with helpful stuff. The student union does a marvellous job at making freshers feel like university is fun experience. I am glad I chose the Northumbria University!!

I have previously studied at another university where I completed my bachelors degree. I didn't enjoy it at all at the time and thought I'd never go back to academia. More than five years later, I decided to complete an MBA and applied to a number of local universities. Although the interview process was great for a couple of others, Northumbria universoty's business school really stood out! I got a warm welcome, I found out about what I would study and when and really got me excited about the possibilities that would follow. I am now a year in, I've nade come incredible friends and connections, had the opportunity to be thought by world class academics and practitioners and I am positive that the decision has already changed by life. I would warmly recommend it!

I have attended both the university of Leeds and Northumbria University and I must say that Northumbria trumps Leeds for student support, welfare, approachable and friendly staff and give good feedback. The student union bar is also really good and serve good food.

The staff is super easy going, I found the uni to be amazing on all aspects I just completed the first year and I really enjoyed it. The facilites are all new and the way the lectures are structured really helped me learn a lot. The staff is great they will provide you with loads of extra material and references to really get the knowledge you need also there are loads of societies you can join and always loads of events and initiatives you can take part in. You are made to feel welcome no matter your educational background and it's a very diverse and modern university. I love it and I am glad to have chosen it.

The Business School has fantastic facilities with plenty of group stations, PCs and classrooms which can be used by students 24/7. The library also gives access to thousands of books and journals applicable to a range of courses, with vast amounts of space to work in both quiet and relaxed conditions.

The campus of Northumbria university is huge. Well, at least I find it huge. As an international student i havent seen such a nice place before. It offer a lot of opportunities and any type of facilities. It has a sport centre including a gym, volleyball and basketball stadium and even a pool. It can be used only if you buy a card but it is not that expensive so if you really want to go to the gym or to swim in the pool you can afford it. Everyone is really friendly and ready to help you if you are in need if something. There is also ask for help in the library which is open 24/7 so any time you have a question you can either go or call them and they are always ready to respond. The buildings near the campus are new and comfortable.

This university is in a perfect location. It is really close to Northumberland street where all major shops are located and has many spaces for students to work. The library is open 24/7 so if you need to do work or want to relax you can access it anytime. It is useful for nights out when there are no buses home as I can just wait in the library until the morning.
