I completed the foundation year (after a remark meant that I should have gained access to the course I wanted first but I was refused!). It was a total waste of my time and money!!! I got 9 hours of 'teaching' a week but more often than not, no one would show up. When they showed up though I caught myself thinking "I taught this to year 9 pupils in my spare time last year!" I now have nothing to show for that year except an extra year added to my expected graduation year!!

Mixture of quality when it comes to lecturers. Modules are interesting but some are unorganised. Module assessment suit students which are better at course work rather than exams.

I attended this uni for 3 years studying Law with Business as a undergraduate. This course was interesting in that in combined different aspects of Law and Business. Many lecturers were very engaging and helpful offering students help and guidance continually throughout, whenever requested through email etc and provided interesting lectures. Furthermore, there was a use of Panapto which meant lectures were recorded and posted online which was incredibly helpful to refer back to when making notes. However, the negative of this university was that there was a lack of support from the actual university staff and course leaders. Throughout my experience at Northumbria there was never any staff available for help at the ask4help student help service points either via phone or via email also. Upon beginning the third year of University at Northumbria, my entire course had missed the first 2 weeks of lectures as the university had failed to produce a timetable for the entire course. This resulted in missed lectures and took two weeks to resolve despite nearly every student from the course messaging the university and physically requesting a timetable from the student help office. When timetables we're finally received, lectures we went to attend were over filled and the rooms were not adequate for the large amount of students attending which resulted in students missing lectures as there were no spaces available. Furthermore, when emailing the course leader for vital information regarding resits etc and advice, there was often no response despite waiting weeks for replies. There were also times when a rare response was received from the course leader and a face to face meeting was organised for a particular time and date but the course leader failed to make an appearance. The continual failure to provide any support to the students and continual administrational failures throughout the years of studying at Northumbria University has resulted in my disappointment.

Paying 9250 a year to watch powerpoints. Otherwise pretty snazzy. The bars on campus are good and I get to have my starbies, then costa got a loyalty card so I'm well chuffed. Costas a bit wank cos it's like a machine and I love me some human interaction but whatevs.

The campus ha needed a refurb for some time, although in the process of updating I.T facilities, the life sciences departments are outdated. Typically expect first year of a life sciences course to be laid back and perhaps not very useful and could be more informative. Lectures are nice although sometimes you feel they prioritise their own research interests over students achieving their desired degree classification, but will usually offer extra help if you ask

Northumbria University is a constantly improving university. Although it may not compare to the likes of Newcastle university across the road in terms of facitilites, for example in the sciences department, because of funding, it is trying to improve. With a new engineering and IT building it will not be long before Northumbria University is the place to go to.

While the facilites are addequete the university is heavly focused on sports and as such certain areas can be found to be lacking when taking other subjects. During my time studying engineering it was often a struggle finding the resources needed to aid with lectures. The lectures themselves were plain white pages of powerpoint and the proffesors often had inadequete qualifications for such a role. The language barrior with 90% of the lectureres been from a different country on a maths based subject caused grades to suffer significantly as youtube was often used for learning instead.

Clean environment. Nice people attend this university. The food is expensive here. Great support from guidance tutors. Great opportunities available by attending this university including research, which is also a great way to make extra money as a student. A bus which is free with a valid Northumbria student card makes it easy to travel into Newcastle city centre from the life science campus (coach lane) which makes it easier for students to attend university (e.g cheap, financially beneficial to students). I would recommended this university to someone as it is easily accessible and it is a great supportive university. Allows a free printing balance so that it is easy to print off university work (free) and the library opening times are great! They can fit into any individuals schedule and are understandable that students can have difficult lives outside of university and can have other things on, they refer you to student support and also do their best if needed to give you an extension on hand ins or deadlines.

For creative courses the university doesn't offer much chance to collaborate with other subjects. They don't have many business/ entrepreneurial opportunities on offer or are widely known about. However my turtles are very knowledgeable and supportive. They are passionate about their subjects and are always available to talk/ discuss.

Coach lane campus is not a nice campus and unfortunately where I am based. Although main campus is really nice and clearly where the money goes which is not great for myself. My course is often pointless lectures and find to be a waste of time!

Northumbria is a good university. I have not used their sports facilities or the SU however the teaching facilities are good.

Very good campus and library , although often tight for space during the day. Excellent student union and good for sport although, I'll never understand why they don't play football on their karaoke night even when there's big games on. As a sport student I am disappointed at the access to sport facilities at sport central, as I seems we have no access to facilities unless timetabled.

The University has great facilities, that are constantly being updated and you can tell that the University is not afraid to invest. The negatives come in the form of the inconsistency with the teaching. Some lectures/seminar tutors are capable of engaging a class, yet others feel like they have no knowledge of teaching techniques, just the knowledge of the subject and not how to teach it.

Love the university! Campus has plenty to do, the library has just be done up and the union is always busy. Really enjoying my course and the business school is great cause there’s almost always free space to do work.

The teaching of my course was quite bad at the start of the semester then almost all of the class complained to the module tutor and finally one of our lecturers was changed.
