The campus is nice and compact so everything is within max 10 mins walking distance. I studied Modern Languages and there are excellent language facilities in the Language Resource Centre, which also serves as a great study space for language students as there are usually more free seats available than in the library.

I believe Newcastle University is a great University. Amazing town where you can live a proper student life, wonderful organisation and beautiful atmosphere

An excellent university striking the right balance between support and academic independence (particularly exceptional medical, history and architecture schools). One of the best cities in the UK to study at alongside Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds. Do not fear coming here if you're from the South, it's only 2 hours 40 on the train from London King's Cross.

My experience at Newcastle university has been wonderful. I went to a different university at first and hated it - but the teaching levels and facilities here go above and beyond. All of my lecturers are skilled and talented in their field, as well as being impeccable at teaching. It's so close to the city centre and offers such a wide variety of modules to cater to everybody's individual desires. In third year we have many guests coming to speak to us about jobs and life outside of university after graduation, which is very helpful.

There are a lot of libraries at different places within the city making it convenient for most students. The student union is a great place to eat some food, have a coffee, study, buy clothes etc!

Most of the campus looks like a red brick University, with the Student's Union at the heart of it all. The Business and Medical Schools are a little further away for the city centre, but still easily within walking distance. Newcastle University has state-of-the-art facilities and great amenities. I study Medicine and Surgery; the course is excellent with a huge amount of interactive and hands-on teaching. We have 2 placement years (stages 3 and 5) to practise our clinical skills in hospital and GP settings. We get a good amount of patient contact and well as lecture-based learning. There are multiple libraries on campus, however the Medical School has its own library on the top floor with plenty of computers and work stations. The career service is always there if you need a little extra support or start to question your path. Newcastle University also has a variety of paid student jobs, e.g. ambassadors, representatives and mentors. This is fun and a great way to find a flexible student job. I have also been using the free University Wide Language Programme to study Japanese in my spare time, the language facilities are amazing and the tutorials are really interesting. I would recommend Newcastle University to anybody looking to study in a vibrant and energetic city!

I am a second year student at Newcastle University's school of modern languages. The department is brilliant, always tending to concerns and generally being kind and helpful. Newcastle's campus is beautiful, steeped in history and good architecture (apart from the horrendous Antony Gormley statue outside the arches). Geordies are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet! I wholeheartedly recommended Newcastle for a well rounded university experience.

I'd rate Newcastle university really highly and recommended it to anyone. My course is highly sociable and it's structure makes it impossible not to make any events. There was lots of course socials and opportunities to meet peers in all year groups not only first year students. It has a really good peer mentoring scheme

Newcastle University is a world class university which is climbing up the QS rankings. It has wonderful facilities in all its departments, such as a language resource centre (which is available to all students and staff to use), a dental hospital, institute of aging. As a student, there are many societies to become involved in, and the student union and campus is very well equipped to accommodate all the activities that take place.

Absolute amazing place, the university offers so much help for all student by giving us different platforms and reading lists and they're very useful. I have never felt more at home coming to university and that was the first thing on my list that I was worried about.

The Newcastle University campus and facilities are amazing. So many different places to eat on and around campus and you can always find a space to sit. Buildings are a mix of old and modern but each one is equipped with everything you'd need during your studies.

The city is amazing, the people, the things to do and the value for money can't slate it at all. The campus university is beautiful and everything is conveniently close so you can walk everywhere. I do chemical engineering and it's run by people who have forgotten what being a student is and we aren't considered in a lot of decisions, I feel like a walking pound sign sometimes. However, I've had the best 4 years of my life the bad parts of my course and outweighed by my university experience.

A huge campus filled with buildings that offer numerous services that can help you with anything whether if it's for your course, wellbeing, and jobs. The courses themselves are certainly high quality and the lectures and seminars are very well organised and useful.

The campus is extremely pretty and very clean. There's always something going on, whether it's a stall or a food van. The facilities available for my course are great, the labs are fully equipped. I'm part of the biosoc and they really involve everyone and always organise events!

Newcastle uni is a very welcoming and friendly university, I was so nervous going to uni for the first time but the help the uni has available really made it easy to fit into the uni lifestyle. Services include an excellent careers service, a wide range of societies to be part of and lots of welcome events were put on in freshers week to really help you settle in.
