The University of Manchester

The university is in a very nice city, it all had a very nice feel to it. The quality of teaching/lectures is not as good as one would hope for the amount of debt we are getting ourselves into as students. The academic support is considerably poor. Halls are good, social side is amazing. There isn't much guidance as to what work you're supposed to be doing on your course, can be very easy to find yourself lost. And because lecturers and academic advisors don't see you as a priority, the lack of support/care can mean you struggle on your course.

needs cheaper food, the teachers and staff are helpful but the strikes didnt benefit students at all. The accommodation is way too expensive for what is is, and the university should consider renovating or lowering the price of student halls.

Great, sociable university with so much to do. With it being such a big place, there are so many people from diverse backgrounds that you can meet and become friends with. Such an interesting place with so much history, football, night life and international foods. There is always an event going on that you might like.

The UoM campus is very nice the university is always trying to make our environment nicer, they have recently build a nice green area for us to enjoy. UoM offers many facilities especially when you want to get away somewhere quiet and do some learning e.g learning common spaces, lots of libraries, cafes and also computer clusters, science labs, studios for drama students, lots of societies, they have a massive sports society. The students union try to make students happy they listen to what we have to say and try their best to implement that. UoM also have mental health well-being classes and they offer counselling services etc. I am a mental health nursing student and I enjoy my course, we do academic work as well as placements all over which is great. I would recommend this University.

An amazing city for students. It has a great night life and everything is very accessible. Buses run frequently and straight to the uni campus. The uni itself offers many societies and the facilities are very good. The student union could be better, in terms of the types of events they organise.

The teaching quality on the llb Law course is the best however the facilities leave a lot to be desired however this is forgivable as we are currently annexing another subjects building.

Careers service are brilliant however specific departments vary as to the standard of teaching and support.

Excellent facilities such as the library and an amazing student union building. I couldn't be happier with my university choice.

I like everything , the teachers are nice , the way they teach is very helpful and easy to understand if you are paying attention and the facilities are great too. My only complain is that in classes you don't have ventilation usually or ot is not turned on and it starts smeling very fast and it gets too hot . Also, there is too much material to study for maths per week ...

The university is incredible. It's diverse, with many students from backgrounds all around the world. Facilities are exceptional especially with the new MECD and Business school campuses opening soon.

Manchester University is a city campus. It's busy, energetic and the student union offers a great place to relax at reasonable prices. My course was fairly organised however, I would have preferred to have my lectures in the building dedicated to my subject rather than gallivant across the campus.

The campus is very accessible, with nearly all buildings on one main road. There are plenty of facilities, for example if you need to use a computer or find a book there are many libraries about. I mainly use the stopford building and the labs have all the up to date equipment in order to carry out experiments. I am doing biomedical science and it can be very challenging at times but it is also rewarding when you put in the work and achieve an end goal. The student union area is very up to date with an on site bar with has a good atmosphere. The uni organises plenty of career fairs during your time, and they give you information of when these are and who will be there.

I've done my undergrad, masters and now PhD at the university of Manchester so it's easy to see that I love it. The facilities are world class, particularly the labs that I work in. The careers service are very helpful and one of the best in the country.

Amazing campus with a lively city, not five stars due to accommodation. Majority is very far or from the center and felt like a boarding school dorm. Need to provide more affordable flats in the city to student at Manchester. Open days are very informative and you are made to feel very welcome. The university provides high quality teaching and you feel as if you are giving the best chance at achieving an excellent degree in your feild. There are many opitunitues for work experience and studying abroad. Providing ou with a range of options in your third year. They are willing to concider every applicant and interview. This shows that the university care much more than just what grades you produce. It's aboit the type of students you are and what else you can offer to the university. Making the life of a student there very good.

I find my course to be really interesting, and the lectures are by and large useful for the topic, and the lecturers seem genuinely engaged and very helpful on the whole.

The campus is large and very culturally diverse in its students. Lage range of courses offered however poor organisation and administration and also examining of my masters course.

Not sure, don't have too much experience. The medical course is well organised but the teaching can be quite hit and miss. The university tries to support us academically and financially very well wherever it can.

The people are lovely and there are a lot of resources. I think the food on campus could have more affordable options but I understand that they like to partner with growing companies that are fairtrade and organic.

I love the campus as it is just a minute walk away from the city and Manchester has everything from London but at a more affordable price and within reach. I'm doing a BSc Actuarial Science and Maths and my department is great in listening to what students want and delivering them.

The University is full of activities, you won't have to worry about bot having what to do. Studies feels like high quality, however, I am disappointed how little studying places there are. Most libraries are very old and unpleasant to spend in. Ali G is the most comfortable place to study but you barely find a place to sit in it.
