I was welcomed into my accomodation with an event to socialise with my housemate. I had a wristband that enabled me to attend most of the freshers week events such as nights out in the union like bass hunter and silent disco. I met a lot of new people and had a lot of fun nights. I settled in quickly. During the day I had introduction to my course and a guide around university. I also attended freshers sports fair and signed up to clubs

Fresher's Week was not what I expected. Move-in day was incredibly awkward but we all soon warmed up to each other after settling in. There was at least one event each day, some with varied success. It was a good opportunity to meet new people in exactly the same situation so just go up to people and talk to them because they probably feel exactly the same as you.

There were really good events and something to do every night. I purchased a wristband which was very good value for money as it got me into the best clubs for a cheaper price than paying entry fee on the night.

Moving in was easy with help from older students who took my bags up for me on a trolley that the uni provided. The freshers experience was also good with different events on every night such as a zoo party and at different clubs each night so you got to try each one. I would recommend getting the coolit wristband as it gave me que jump and free entry to all events and was only around £25 but it's cheaper the earlier you get it.

Good move in experience as there were staff to help move bags and boxes at my halls. The Guild of Students events had a good variety for people of all interests. There were a good amount of sober events too. On the other hand the events in town organised by Cool It were really fun and showed us a wide range of clubs. Very expensive though.

Freshers week was great! I was very glad that there were loads of activities besides drinking. I am from Cyprus and so I was pretty surprised to see the huge drinking culture (especially in Liverpool) so I was a bit worried at first but there was so many other things to get involved with. Although I must say the focus is on drinking but you can still meet plenty of people and have a great time! The fresher's fair was great too, very busy and really opened your eyes to see all the possibilities during my study here.

At freshers I met quite a lot of people and I started asking them for their social media details straight away, like snapchat, so I could remember names and stay in touch.

Had a lot of things to do, even had a welcome party in guild. The frehers fair was amazing, a lot of societies and met a lot of other freshers

It was great to move in and meet everybody in the Carnatic bar but was difficult to work out who I was actually in the same hall as, so although it was nice meeting those people, my first few hours were spent with people I didn’t even live with! The nights out were good and the events at the guild were great! Would advise get your parents to drop you off and leave as soon as possible!
