A lot of disorganisation prior to freshers week regarding which wristband to buy for club entries. A lot of my flat mates had different wristbands to me so we couldn’t go in the same clubs together without paying on the door. I went out most nights and still worked out it would’ve been cheaper to just buy on the door each time; definitely recommended not getting wristbands. On the positive side there were lots of events on, I made loads of mates and had a great time!

Overall good week but could be more opportunities to meet new people. Made some really good friends on my course Andy in my accommodation. The nightclub events were amazing and always packed. Although you spend quite a bit of money it’s fun and a great way to meet people and quickly build a relationship. My tip would be to put yourself out there as soon as possible it’ll make it easier to build friendships later on when you briefly know people from your first week. The first night I came I went to a flat party all my myself. It was a very unlikely thing for me to do but so glad I did. I’m still friends with some people from that very first night and it allowed me to get to know other people on courses and relate to their experiences at university. I’d say try and remain friends or at least civil with your housemates it only makes things easier and first impressions aren’t always correct. We’re all going through a new experience so people come across different to how they actually are. Housemates will see you at your best and worse and vise versa so politeness is only beneficial to everyone

Wasn't great (night life) -over priced -little music genre variety Okay (activities) - A good choice of activities to chose from each day

Whilst the line up is usually eminiscent of a 2008 Pop Party CD, prices are good and there's a good range of non SU events.

Hard to meet people unless you live in shared apartment Joining a sports team or society will help you meet friends quickly Just bring essentials when moving in as you end up buying most things
