Such a good friendly atmosphere to train in, you always feel welcome and it's a great way to meet new people whether you've done it before or not. The socials are excellent with a new theme each week and always ending in Sugar.

There was such a range of societies at Lancaster but choosing to join Lancaster Roses Cheerleaders was the best decision I made at uni! Training twice a week was fantastic exercise and competing at Nationals was so much fun.

The cheer team are a really great society to join at university. Even if you haven’t done cheer before you learn about it and the different positions such as flying, basing and backing. The exercises are vigourous and can help towards increasing your fitness whilst at university even though cheerleading is not a sport at Lancaster. We have had the Privelage of performing at the opening ceremony of roses when held at Lancaster. Cheerleading is an expensive society to join as there is a uniform you have to buy and a bow to wear which is pretty but still expensive. We have to go to external gyms which are expensive and to enter the national competitions the entry fees are expensive let alone the transport to get there.
