Debating Society

Exeter University debating society is by far the best society on campus. You are guaranteed to make friends as communication is essential. You will experience people from all walks of life and as many perspectives as there are members! The Monday night workshops are there for tournament practice if you're into the competitive scene, and improving your public speaking and confidence for the more casual goers. Debsoc also runs exceptional socials at least twice a month - with such hits as the 'Rail Ale Trail', Ottery St. Mary tar barrels, Surrealist debates and the explosive end of year balls. However the pièce de résistance of debsoc happens every Friday night where a four person panel is held on a topical and controversial issue of the day. Here we listen to experts brought in from across the globe to educate us on the biggest challenges of our time. Ranging from climate change and constitutional reform to whether you should take a gap year or be active on Tinder. Debates are hosted every week on Friday at 7pm by the society Chair who is as intelligent as he is handsome and well endowed. All these things and more make Exeter debating society the best club on campus!
