Not very good, LCR is not very lively, neither town, with good flatmates it's fun but not the best Freshers week.

Had a lovely freshers, very very welcoming and the parties were good. The only bad thing was that the tickets for the events sold or very quickly and if you weren't informed before joining or joint through clearing - like I did then it was very hard to get tickets. Additionally as a fresher if you didn't have tickets to the LCR and your flatmates were going then you had nothing to do but sit in your room. The events I went to were superb including the performance by Example which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Freshers week runs for two weeks at the university of East Anglia. Everyone assumes you have to be into clubbing to get involved but it really is very diverse and they have a wide range of activities on so there's probably something you'll enjoy doing that's running

Good freshers experience nice range of events but the tickets separately as the wrist band is very overpriced and expensive

Had to still attend lectures, often had 9am starts which ruined the experience. Expensive events for what we got. Good opportunity to socialise though.

Nice welcome pack when I moved into the room, however compulsory meeting about the halls wasnt that fun. Could have been a way to get to know people in your block some sort of party or something? As a nevrous student very difficult to make friends even with flatmates initially. The timing of the freshers fair coincided with teacher so I was unable to attend which was upsetting as this was what I was really looking forward to. The events I went to were really good such as welcome ball and foam party but didn’t go to all of hem as the freshers wrist band is so expensive so couldn’t really afford too. Plus not sure who to go with as a shy person. I would say try and interact with your flat asap and when they do stuff go with them don’t stay in your room then you can make friends even if tiny with them but from going to events, at least you won’t be on your own. Go to as much in freshers as possible I didn’t and I regret it, a good way to make friends even if it’s just for the night!!!!

My freshers experience was confusing, they need to give out more maps and more timetables of more than just academic events. I had no idea half of the events in the evening were on. Also ticketed events were not worth the price.

My freshers lasted 2 weeks instead of 1 and included various acts at a warehouse and the lcr such as yungen and chase and status.

Was hectic, but signed up for so many opportunities and left with more friends, contacts and free stationary

Was good fun, lived at home though for first two years. In third year was a lot more fun as I was away from home.

It wasn’t that bad in all honesty, lots of events going on on campus and in the LCR specifically which was good. On the other hand, some of the events were poorly attended so that kinda sucked.
