I have really enjoyed my experience at Durham University. The college system means that it is very easy to make friends and taking part in sport at all levels is possible. The college events also have made my time special allowing me to meet a wide variety of people I could regularly see at these events.

Very good and course challenging. I think the facilities here are very good and very new which is nice to see. Lots of libraries too

The facilities are great and the collegiate system has enhanced the experience of being a University student. The location is convenient because the campus is close to town.

The education department provides an amazing pgce primary course, mixing a range of in school and university based experience.

All my tutors are so friendly and delivery great lectures and seminars, in terms of support there is lots of options.

The course I am studying, music, has amazing active research which lecturers are always willing to share with interested students, and do so in regular guest lectures also. The college system provides great welfare support and a really exciting as well as traditional university environment.

Amazing and beautiful city. Some of teaching isn’t as good as I was expecting but the people are so intelligent and innovative. I love the social scene: very much a pub oriented life with only a small emphasis on clubbing. My accommodation is ok, it’s a bit ridiculous how expensive it is considering how much we pay. A lot of international students and people from different backgrounds, although it is quite posh with many people coming from top public schools. One of the things I’m concerned about with the university is how traditional it is in terms of relationships. It certainly isn’t very relaxed when people decide to ‘sleep around’ or have multiple partners. Overall a terrific place- I’m so happy to be here!

The college system means no one falls through the cracks, you feel part of a community. The campus is gorgeous and it snows all the time making everything look so pretty.

In general, Durham is an amazing university to be at, situated in an absolutely beautiful city with unrivalled scenery. The collegiate system is very clever and enables you to make close knit friendships within college. Durham’s chemistry department is one of the best in the world, and it really is evident from the quality of teaching and laboratory demonstration we receive here. You can get involved in anything you like, whatever it is, if you’re an expert, or if you’ve never tried it before, Durham is the place to be.

Excellent university. Not a huge fan of the collegiate system, quite cliquey but if you ignore it, it isn’t a problem. Departments are excellent, student support (both personally, careers wise and academically is great). It is very small and I need a break quite frequently but I like it.

Durham is a great little town, there's always something new to explore. Its not too big so is easy to get around on foot. Everyone is so friendly and I feel very safe.

Durham University is located in a beautiful city, the campus is all quite close knit and also close to the centre near the shops. Durham is a city for everyone, with lots to do. St mary's college is a good one too.

The campus might not be the most beautiful, but you still get all you need! Brilliant student union organising nights out and activities! Superb college system allows you to enjoy differently!

Awesome all round balanced lifestyle. Great resources for studying, loads of sport to get involved with at all levels and tonnes of opportunities to do whatever you fancy. Great nightlife despite dodgy reputation. College system is incredible, choose Collingwood for the best of everything! doesn't matter that the SU is useless because each college has their own facilities.

Durham University provides a world class experience for its students - situated amongst world heritage sites, Durham boasts a proud heritage and ancient traditions, but with a modern and welcoming experience for its students. Accommodation is primarily split between the beautiful and historical Bailey, and the modern, diverse Hill colleges. Each of these provide welcome support to students, high quality rooms and access to gyms, societies and bars galore! Other notable features include a hyper-modern Science Site, as well as the world class Durham Union Society, which is at the forefront of political debate! Much need improvements are required for the DSU, but these have been scheduled to take place by the University - finances are clearly managed well. My course, Ancient History, has provided wonderful support, although more contact hours would be great!

This institution really sums up the British education experience, an eclectic mix of interesting people, sportsmen and students. It is not in every university where, through the collegiate system, a feeling of togetherness and inclusion is fostered in such an organic manner. A giant of old, Durham is one of the greatest establishments, academic or otherwise, in this great nation.
