Durham University is a residential collegiate university with long traditions and modern values. The oldest of the University's 16 colleges, University College, was founded in 1832 at the same time as the establishment of the University (which is England's third oldest Higher Education Institute after Oxford and Cambridge). The most recent is Josephine Butler College, founded in 2006.The university operates in two locations: in the city of Durham and at Queen's Campus, Stockton-on-Tees.
The University has good teaching and a good choice of modules for the Law course. The guidance through during the dissertation was very helpful. However, the University insists on expanding and has not been able to keep up in terms of teaching and study space provisions. This makes the environment somewhat clustered and distracting.
Durham University is a fantastic university. The chemistry department is brilliant. The staff are friendly, approachable and very helpful. The research carried out here is top class. Lectures are interesting and useful. The college system and range of societies is excellent. The only downside to this university- college accommodation is so ridiculously expensive. This is such a shame as it puts so many people off and makes access to this top class institution difficult for many.
