Conservation at the Uni of Birmingham has been great fun, rewarding and couldn't recommend enough!! We meet weekly to maintain parks and environmental areas in the local area and aim to host more social events in the future too!!

The society holds free events every Sunday minimum, and all transport is free. It looks great on your cv, and it’s nice to get out of Selly Oak and meet people with similar interests who you otherwise wouldn’t have met. The committee are really nice and it they’re encouraging new members to apply for committee roles. My favourite part about the society is the residential side; the best was £10 for all transport food and accomodation for a trip to a children’s farm Friday-Sunday.

The events are varied and well organised, one week you could be cleaning out the canal and the next chopping down trees in Sutton park. The energy of the society is quite mellow but enthusiastic. The society is free as is travel to parks and farms.
