The Sheffield Hallam Campus was excellent and was in the heart of the city. Even the campus outside of the center was easy to reach with a shuttle bus service. The library facilities were outstanding, especially being able to access this 24/7. The tutors and staff are second to none. All subjects and lectures I have studied/ attended were interesting and engaging.

I'm based at collegiate campus, Lots of great facilities including plenty of computer space, the criminology course is really interesting and staff are very helpful and have experience in the industry, only down side I can think of is the price of food on campus it is very overpriced for what it is which considering students are the only ones buying it they should consider lowering the prices

From arriving on my first day all stay and students were extremely helpful in helping me where to go and how to get to my first group meeting. The student that we first met in our AA groups was really lovely and answered all the questions that people asked and made us feel very welcome and already apart of the university. During the course the academic tutors have always emailed us and kept us up to date with anything that is happening and how to access everything online and where to submit our assignments. They have also been helpful by going through assignments in our letures and our AA has been really good with helping us with our nerves for group projects and any issues that we may have.

It could be improved massively,I feel like student who are really struggling with home stuff and other stuff should be given more help e.g Due to my grandmother having heart attacks constantly my mother would leave the house and my little brothers as my responsibility and I would try getting my uni work done at the same time but due to so much going on I could not select what dissertation I wanted which then now I'm my third year did not give me no options and assigned me a dissertation which I have no interest or passion in which makes me feel like dropping out of uni within the first three weeks I did go to the module leader to see if there was a possibility of changing my dissertation but they said at this point I cannot drop out of uni or change my dissertation. This really needs to be improved as a student we don't pay 9 grand just so we are given things which we do not approve of.

I really enjoy studying at Sheffield Hallam. The campus is good, although a little spread out (my course is spread across city and collegiate). In terms of facilities, the uni offers everything I would expect. I do not stay in the accommodation however I have heard varied things from my friends. The careers service couldn't do more to support students- the staff are friendly and helpful. My course has exceeded expectations, it pushes me to work hard and challenged my mind. We have course reps who can put forward any issues to get them resolved quickly. I wasn't sure if uni would be for me but I am very glad this is the route I took, I have no regrets!

I've been at Hallam for four years and have found there are quite a few issues that need to be reviewed. Firstly the student union does not feel like a student union at all. There isn't any buzz about it and it's a boring place to be which is a shame because the people who work there are very lovely. Secondly, the change to semesterisation in the final year is a massive disadvantage for us because we have been used as guinea pigs to see if it works. It's very difficult to be able to keep on top of things and so easy to miss huge chunks of the module. It feels as if we are being taught to pass an exam not taught to actually learn. Thirdly, I think the assessment methods for the modules is unfair for example one of the modules is 100% based on one singular exam which isn't fair at all. There doesn't feel like there is any actually teaching it is just reading off a PowerPoint or word document. I wouldn't advise anyone on going to Hallam it's a massive waste of money and time.

The city campus has lots of nice modern buildings (mostly) and collegiate has nice leafy green areas and eccy road with lots of nice independent shops/cafes. There are good facilities eg city library and career centre. The student union isn't particularly exciting (especially compared to uni of) as the building is too small for any really good events. However they do provide really good job and voluntary opportunities to help you with your career. I can't speak for all courses but mine (education with psychology and counselling) is abysmal. DO NOT DO IT. It is not worth £9k per year at all.

It's a friendly environment and always feel so comfortable there! There is a varied range of food and drink facilities and it is reasonably priced! The university course I do is informative and the help we receive from lecturers is always great.

Overall very disorganized especially in relation to conouting departments. Constantly changing timetables with very little student support or input. Assignments and placement are not well supported.

The campus is well designed and easy to navigate. The restaurants have a good range of delicious food and there are plenty so you're never far from one.

Sheffield Hallam University is a great university if you want to be in a nice vibrant city with great access to sports, especially running as the peaks are right around the corner. It has a good nightlife and plenty to do. There's a range of subjects to study with good university facilities.

Great campus and facilities. Both libraries across both campus' are open 24/7/365 so that you can do work whenever suits you best. Careers services are very helpful and provide good service and appointment times, particularly when students are preparing cover letters, application forms and CVs ahead of work placement interviews

Sheffield Hallam has made me feel incredibly welcome. No matter what problems I have faced, whether it's academic or personal, they have helped me through it. I really couldn't have chosen a better university.

There are 2 campuses - the City campus and the Collegiate campus. Which one you're located at depends on your course. The student union is very proactive and there are many events throughout the year. The career services offer help with structuring your CV and finding a part time job while at university, and more! There are career fairs where you can meet employers and gather information on different careers. The university is mostly very organised, but there were some problems with timetables of students. Students didn't have lessons in their timetable or simply were assigned to wrong classes. This has been quickly realised and sorted and everything is sorted now. A fast response from the university despite complications.
