Sheffield Hallam has made me feel incredibly welcome. No matter what problems I have faced, whether it's academic or personal, they have helped me through it. I really couldn't have chosen a better university.
There are 2 campuses - the City campus and the Collegiate campus. Which one you're located at depends on your course. The student union is very proactive and there are many events throughout the year. The career services offer help with structuring your CV and finding a part time job while at university, and more! There are career fairs where you can meet employers and gather information on different careers. The university is mostly very organised, but there were some problems with timetables of students. Students didn't have lessons in their timetable or simply were assigned to wrong classes. This has been quickly realised and sorted and everything is sorted now. A fast response from the university despite complications.
Excellent campus and facilities. Constant support throughout all work/exams/ assignments. Blackboard is well organised and all work is clear.
Sheffield Hallam University is a place filled eith interesting and exciting atmosphere. They provide lots of fun events that helps students to get along well. The services here are well supporting and the dacilities are great.
Our course leaders for business and hrm are really helpful with your academic work and also your personal life they would always be there to give advice. I have had the best experience in the 3 years i have been able to get more confident and independent
Great campus, members of staff are very friendly, easy to approach and do their best to help you if they can. Careers service put on helpful sessions with real companies to improve employability skills
The city campus is beautifully designed, with plenty of computers and seating areas to fit all purposes. The careers service offer jobs for university students and support students even 3 years after graduation, so the support doesn't stop when you graduate. I study biomedical Science and I am currently in my third year I found it very easy transitioning into the course as there was plenty of academic and non academic support, so I felt very confident.
Course very good, lecturers make it a unique experience, I enjoy how many people I have met already despite being new to uni, I love how many opportunities you can get from this
Sheffield is a modern university full of life. Lots to do and help needed everywhere you turn. Tutors there fore you when needed, responding to emails and value your time. Also help there with assignments. Students unions is great, loads of different societies to join, a nice place to eat in hubs and have a drink with your friends. Also a careers building to help with any needs such a placements and graduate jobs.
I was based at the City campus and was in the heart of the city. The facilities were fantastic and my department was very supportive. My lecturers provided a lot of contact time and were always easy to get a hold of, and were experts in their subject areas. Couldn’t have wished for a better uni experience.
Completed the Integrated Masters qualification in Human Biology with First Class Honours, despite only obtaining a D in Biology at A-level. The 24-week research experience, along with sandwich year/ summer opportunities are very beneficial and worthwhile whilst you’re debating your final career pathway!
The University has a lot of support services and a 24hrs library. They provide Scholarship to virtually everyone so you never worry about money. The location is perfect as it's close to the bus station and train station. I recommend going to this University
I’ve had such a great time at my first year of university at Sheffield Hallam. I’m based on city campus and the new ish buildings are all very nice. Stoddart is slightly warm later on into the year but isn’t too bad. The lecturers and module leaders are all incredibly supportive also.
Brilliant induction and great support throughout the course. Student union and course members were supportive. Campus was clean and accessible. The facilities were to a high standard.
Collegiate campus is great, with the newly built and modern Heart of the Campus, attached to the surrounding bukdining which are more dated, works reallly well. The Law course is structed very well with a lot of emphasis on employability skills and a focus on the practice of law, similar to what would be expected in a law firm.
Pretty good. I study computing and it’s not bad :) sometimes a bit annoying as tutors are rude but overall good
Had the best three years at University, met friends for life who I am now travelling with. The relatively new collegiate campus was lovely and had lots of facilities. The library staff were my highlight at University. Nothing was too much for them especially when printing my dissertation (very stressful) and having a chat in the early hours of the morning when we were still at the library ! Overall the course was challenging (criminology) and tested my abilities at times however I really enjoyed the majority of my modules and even had the chance to visit Finland, Estonia and Latvia !
The relatively new collegiate campus was beautiful and well designed. The library staff were lovely, chatty and very helpful and supportive during the third year dissertation stress ! My three years at Uni will not be forgotten, had the best time and made friends for life that I am now going to travel the world with. My course (criminology) was difficult and testing at times but overall I really enjoyed it and even had the opportunity to study a module in Finland, visit Estonia and Latvia which I highly recommend (comparative criminal justice module)
Really central uni and easy to navigate around. Everyone’s friendly and helpful so you don’t feel on your own.
Excellent support with the course and fabulous mentoring. The student life is fantastic and it is a great city to be in. The accommodation that are private are close by. The trains and other transport methods are close which means you are always being encouraged to travel. I would reccomend the university as it also has fun and energising competition links with sheffield university. This brings a closer unionship of students. The campus is clean and there are lits of restaurants and shopping ceres close by you can take a tram to get to meadowhall and it's really clean. There are lots of care we festivals that are open o most days. They can assist you with cv writing and their are job adverts online. I also have used the career service and found them to be helpful and supported me in applying and gaining a job. I enjoy the food service that they have in the student union. The food is afordable and there are excellent seating places for large groups of people
Facilities are amazing, noting to doubt. The campus is split into two but it is practical with all buildings close by. The cafe is practically cheap and should be open longer hours as in 24/7. The library is the best place on earth. Really student orientated!
There's two great campus', the main and bigger campus being the city campus, located directly in the centre, by the train station - ideal for commuters, and the collegiate campus, located just off eccy road, where most second year and third year students live. the student union is located by the city campus and is great for freshers events, the freshers fairs: freebie fair, societies and clubs fairs, also with a cheap bar inside!
I am grateful that I chose Sheffield Hallam University for my course because I had the best experience and it taught me a lot. The staff is helpful and they offer continuous support, the resources are endless in a 7-story library and I've learned all I imagined. The campus is in the city centre which is very handy for the small breaks between lectures, the facilities are what you expect from a modern university and the Student Union always have an activity going on so you can't get bored if you are a Hallam student!
Sheffield Hallam university is a brilliant institution for higher education. I studied IT with Business, which is a course that combines two areas and ensures that I am competent in such rapidly growing areas. Throughout my time, I was always provided the support and assurance that I required. Each module was engaging and interesting; therefore, overall I believe it is a fantastic University that I am proud to have studied at.
