I joined ConSoc in year One (I am now in Three), and it is worth every penny! We have been on numerous trips, to interesting and beautiful places around Britain, and nobody is excluded. Because we usually only use one minibus, trips are done on a first-come, first-served basis. All members are included. I have learned about bird-watching, which is what a lot of the committee are into, so this is good, as I have not been a bird-watcher previously. I have my own interests, in slugs and beetles, and they have accommodated these. We have a guest lecturer who was an expert in slugs, and we identified individuals which we had caught on campus. I loved this session! The committee are always professional and friendly. The member of staff who drives the minibus, accompanies us in activities, and helps with the committee, is always friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend other students to get involved in ConSoc, even if you are not on an environmental course. Anyone can join, from any campus, and any course.
