Nottingham Trent University

During my time at Nottingham Trent ( only stayed for one year and moved) I felt so alone, there wasn't enough opportunity to mix when you weren't living in one of the main halls of residence, and travelling everyday would be frustrating to receive an email 10 minutes before a 9am lecture to say it had been cancelled. I even sometimes would go to a 9 am lecture for it to last 15 minutes and that would be it for the day despite me traveling an hour to and an hour from the uni.

If I could choose again I would definitely steer clear of NTU. The social side of student life is very good with lots of events to choose from, many quite affordable. Majority of the time there is very little support available in terms of studying and difficulties faced on placements. The taught content of the course does not prepare well for real jobs which is evident in students' outcomes on placements. Many of the staff are difficult to reach over email or phone at any time. Some of the staff think it's acceptable to ask specific questions about private issues in front of the whole class. The organisation is poor with the students often having to change arrangements last minute. Lectures are known to let students know about cancellations minutes before the session is due to start. Library staff at Clifton are brilliant but those at City are often rude and unprofessional.
