Kimber halls of residence are different to many other halls in Southampton. Instead of being divided into flats of 5-10 people, Kimber is layed out completely different. The halls almost feel like a hotel as all the rooms are set out along the corridors, with every tenth door a kitchen and communal space. This allows an individual to easily meet the rest of the fellow students, it is more sociable. The rooms have en suits which is very convenient. In terms of the location Kimber halls are the closest to Solent university with just a small walk across the park and there you are. The recently renovated halls are perfect for all students especially first years who are wanting to meet people and make friends!

I loved my time in Kimber halls. Everyone was in the same boat which gave me the common ground with my flat mates. We all got on very well and went out on great night outs together. The facilities of having an en suite bathroom was better than sharing as it gave you privacy. It was great to be able to decorate it how I liked and make it homely. I loved my year there and would definitely recommend Kimber halls if anyone is thinking about attending Solent.

Kimber Student residence sits opposite the park, it is very pretty in the summer. The accommodation has very average facilities. All rooms are ensuit. Room is medium size, nice large desk room and big open window. Can be quite noisy at night with traffic going past but other than that it is in a nice location. The kitchen is where we mostly socialise, however there is a big common room on every floor too. The kitchen is a good decent size and has nice facilities. I would recommend staying here to a friend or someone interested in studying at this university, especially as it is also returners accommodation for all three years.

The location can be a little noisey due to traffic but is balanced out by over looking a beautiful park. The rooms and facilities are very high standard.
