Really love the residence atmosphere, lots of open spaces and recreational activities. The Edge bar and it's game Nights and pub quizzes are an attraction for all. Overalls really love Crewe Flats, near to University too.

I got really lucky in the endcliffe crescent houses, lovely sized room in a house of 12. 5 bathrooms and a nice kitchen space. Only thing which lets it down is that there is no living area.

Loved my flat mates, location was far, room were good quality but some things did break. Security was good and it was nice having a bar on campus.

The social experience is fantastic as it is a student village and nearly all of them are freshers. The facilities are great, there is the Edge in Endcliffe that serves as a common room with a bar and pool tables. The room is nice however the ensuite could be bigger and better, it is currently a wet room. The desk is big which is good but the mattress is a little bit uncomfortable.

Rooms are quite big and well mantained. Only 30 min walk to uni and very pretty campus. The edge is a good place to meet friends.

Staying in Ranmoor has been, on the whole, a very pleasant experience. The flats are aesthetically pleasing both inside and out. My bedroom is spacious with more than enough storage. The majority of rooms are ensuite and come equipped with plenty of plug sockets. Moving-in was made easy by student helpers and plenty of information was given to us beforehand. The social life is great because of all the free events put on by Residence Life. Living here is safe, comfortable and sociable.

Great accommodation in a fantastic location. Not too far from the university (about 20min walk) but instead in a quiet student village type setting with a rural feel, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Great rooms with all the basics one needs. Fantastic environment for socialising as everyone around you is in the same boat.

I thought the halls (in Sheffield in general) were a bit pricey and I paid around £120 a week for an en-suite room in Ranmoor Windgather in a flat of 10 (5 guys and 5 girls). Despite everyone seeing Ranmoor as the quiet and boring village, I massively enjoyed my stay and owe it to the fact I got on so well with my flatmates. We got what we paid for here - the place had security on site, a receptionist at the hub (Ranmoor Ridge) most hours, our problems with the flat were quickly fixed (

Great halls, met wonderful people. It's a little far from University compared to other accommodation but it's not too much trouble.

Everything you need is on site - there is a shop, a bar and so many students to keep you entertained! I felt extremely safe there and I miss it so much! I stayed in Endcliffe which was so nice - most flats had an ensuite which was great and the bedrooms were all lovely! The site was extremely well kept and I don't know anyone who didn't enjoy it there! Only downside is that it is about a 20 min walk to uni, which didn't seem like much at the time but after living 10 mins away now I wouldn't want to live as far again! But the closer campus did not appeal to me so am definitely happy with my decision, even with the walk!

Great location for students, a 25 minute walk from uni so not the shortest, but social experience makes up for it. Rooms are to a good standard, some of the best showers you can get, plenty of storage (once you realise there’s room under the beds). Biggest flaw is the communal space - we’re in a flat of 10 and have the same amount of space as flats of 6. The best place to be in first year by far

The halls are modern and in a great location. I was really close to 'The Edge' - a bar, restaurant and social / exercise space which was perfect. They were cleaned fortnightly and all my friends from other uni's that came to stay said they were much better than theirs!

The location is far away from the main site of Uni, but is where nearly all first eats are which is great! The cleaning facilities are rubbish nd a massive rip off (circuit laundry). My block (windgather) was very nice with lots of kitchen space and very nice room.

I live in Howden block in Endcliffe. The halls are fantastic. So warm you can wake up in a sweat, the security is also top notch, its manned 24 hours and you always feel safe. There is also the Edge Bar/building with pool tables screens and drink/food available. Endlciffe is its own little campus with nearly 5000 students, if you’re a social butterfly, you’ll be in your element! The only downsides are that the sofas in the living room are not the most comfortable and noise can sometimes be an issue - however thats the case for anywhere you live. When you move out and have to pay for heating, these things become absolutely arbitrary. Endlciffe was amazing and 4 years later, I still miss it.

Ranmoor was modern, tidy and I loved my ensuite. Social life was lively too with the ridge and all the other students knocking about it was never boring!

Thoroughly enjoyed living here in first year. The location was a bit out there - about 20 minute walk from most lectures, but always felt safe. Very modern flats and a real sense of community. Was good to have a bar near the accommodation meaning we could just pop across for a few pints in the evening
