Receptionist and service is exceptional. Refuse room however used to be regularly cleaned but no longer is done. Good value for money, rooms are in good condition.

The location of The Anvil is great - only 15 minutes to either campus (City of Collegiate) and 20 minutes to the Sheffield Institute of Arts Head Post Office building. Nearby, there are various accessible amenities only 5 minutes away - a PureGym, McDonald’s, two Spars, and a load of takeaways and shops on London Road. Supermarket access is convenient - Asda/PoundStretcher/Home Bargains is 7 minutes away, and Aldi/Sainsbury’s Local/Wilko are 9 minutes walk away. It’s a 15 minute walk into the city centre, the Moor Shopping Centre and the Light Cinema and food complex. Nightlife nearby is great - the Leadmill is 5 minutes away, and a variety of pubs and bars are located a maximum of 20 minutes and a minimum of 5 minutes away. The train station is a 10-15 minute walk away, as is the bus station. The Anvil itself is a nice and quiet accommodation, with the perfect access to all of these facilities, but a quiet place to study and relax too. It is close to larger and more party-oriented accommodation like Exchange Works or the Forge, and a new Chinese development is under construction nearby, set to hold supermarkets, restaurants and living space. Staff are attentive and friendly the vast majority of the time, with the exception of some disgruntled security staff. The Anvil is definitely a place I would recommend living - I’ve been here for two years before moving to another house.

Such a nice place to live. Ideal accommodation if you're at city campus. Can be quiet but so easy to make friends with everyone, staff is also so helpful and friendly all the time and quick to deal with any issues

The anvil is a very quiet halls so good for third year students. However, kitchens in need of an upgrade as looking tired.

The location of the bulging is good as it's only a 10 minute walk to uni and a 10 minute walk to the shops. However there is no social experience what so ever as no one knows each other in the building. It's a very antisocial place. The facilities aren't the best as cleaners don't clean properly and the staff at reception don't actually help you out. I've had many problems with my room and it takes weeks for it to be resolved when it should take a matter of days.

Good location, not too far from the university or too close around a 10 minute walk! Good communal facilities, pool table, sky tv, tea and coffee station. The laundry facilities are clean and large but expensive, be prepared to spend a fiver on washing a week. One block had no lift so be prepared for a good walk if you’re on the top floor of B block!

The staff are friendly and happy to help with problems or when collecting parcels. The communal areas are clean and rooms are clean upon arrival. Only poor thing is the batteries in main flat doors go a lot which gets irritating
