Spacious kitchen, rooms for 7 people so meet plenty of new people, spacious en suit, reat storage in room and lots of cupboard and fridge space in kitchen, very close to uni, town, supermarkets and the train station

The room is good I like the corkboards and desk, the flat could do with a better social area in the kitchen more similar to other halls.

The location of the halls is amazing and very close to the uni and the shops, however when I moved in it was very dirty there was mud on the walls and it took 3 hours to clean just my room before I actually started moving in. The WiFi is very slow and the walls are too thin.

Probably the closest halls to university if you are in in Darwin/Maudland, its's literally a 2 minute walk and still only a 10 minute walk to Vernon/Livesy House. The only downide of the lcoation is the train line that runs behind the halls. The rooms have plently of storage and whilst the rooms are not huge, there are not tiny either. The wifi was usually good but there was a couple of occasions where it didn't work for an entrie day. Social evetns were not really organised, but there is a nice common room. I was put with people on my course/similar courses which made it easier to get along.

The location of the halls is super convenient. The town centre, local supermarket and the buildings where my lectures take place are easily within walking distance. I feel very secure in my building since a pass is required for the gate, the door to the building and the door to the flat. Plus, having a lock on my own door means I can ensure my own privacy which, as someone who is very introverted, I seriously value. My desk and wardrobe are big, my bed is comfortable and my en suite is spacious. There have been a couple of problems with wifi but for the most part it’s efficient and consistent. I love the sound of the trains passing behind the building and the view of the sunset from my window. The shared kitchen and living room space is nice for spending time with others and the bedroom is big and comfortable enough for when I want to spend time alone.

The room itself is of a good standard. The size is good and fits all of the needs of a student. It also includes many drawers and shelves which is useful for storage. The communal area that I have is a good size because we have a dining room table however I find that other flats in roeburn are not as big as mine and find them quite cramped. The flatmates are always really respectful and I have enjoyed their company this year. However the one complaint I would have is the WiFi is often unreliable and my computer sometimes is unable to find it or when it does it is very slow.

I stayed in Roeburn Halls last year as a Fresher. £99 a week seems a lot but a saw a few different halls and Roeburn were one of the best in my opinion. I moved out of my original flat and in with my friends and the Roeburn accommodation office was really helpful. The common room was good, we all used to pile in to watch stuff like I’m a celeb. The rooms were quite big, the Wi-fi worked 95% of the time and en-suite is always a plus. The security was always really good, even though it wasn’t good when they came to kick everyone out of parties if there was a complaint. This year I’m with a landlord not with the uni and it’s nowhere near as good as an experience so I’m definitely going back into halls for my final year. Especially as they are smack bang in the middle of everything meaning you’re both near the clubs and the classes.

Its in a great location and has a ok kitchen layout. However, value for money lacks as there is cheaper on the market. However, a good place to get you started on your university adventure.

Nice halls, very clean and well kept. Good common room with pool table and Xbox, lots of social events put on by the residence team. Maintenance seem to be in the flat every week checking diffrent appliances, radiators and lights often fail.

The location is excellent, as I am right next to where I have my lectures. However, there are a lot of issues, like things needing replacing and fixing ALL THE TIME, tons of noise, and I just don’t think it’s worth the £105 a week to live with 6 other people, when it could be about the same price to live alone.

There were a variety of halls to choose from in Uclan. I chose Roeburn as it was in a very good location and close to the main centre of the university. It also had ensuite rooms which I was looking for. From looking through the pictures that were provided, the rooms looked decent and had enough space. Our kitchen was spacious which was good for 7 people! Living in halls is definitely a great experience as it allows you to make new friends. The wifi is reasonable, although sometimes it is difficult to connect or looses connection randomly. I would say Roeburn could cheaper in price

The location is brilliant, close the shops but also close to the uni buildings. The building it’s self is terrible, there’s always something wrong with it and they’re always sending contractors in to do work. Which really takes away our privacy

I love the people I was put with but the flat itself isn’t the best, rooms are always freezing unless the heating is on 24/7, showers are bad as well.

It's freezing at night and the walls are paper thin. The decor is clearly older than the majority of students who go there, with a soulless "communal area" embedded within the flat kitchen with small sofas, with the exception of the excellent common room. Unfortunately, even this good thing has been ruined by people stealing the two Xbox One controllers continuously. Disgusting lack of consideration for others when the common room is left in a state from overnight parties in there. Don't expect to have a peaceful night's sleep due to inconsiderate people in other flats, let alone your own flatmates if you're unlucky enough. Invest in earplugs or a comfortable pair of sleep earphones. You'll hear loud thugs screaming in the courtyard some nights and the choirs of Hell from screeching laughter in the stairwell if you live in any of the four storied blocks. Black block is only two stories and seems okay, but I'm in yellow and it is nightmarish at best. The location is excellent, however - Aldi and town centre is only a short walk away and the library, Student Union and Friargate are a short walk the other way. Bring your own entertainment - a decent sized TV with a games console is a must if you want to have something to do with flatmates. The room is ice cold and you aren't allowed a space heater - fold your curtains up onto your window sill so you don't lose any more heat from the heaters that stay on for twenty minutes at a time. They're meant to stay on for half an hour but I've had no such luck. The internet is acceptable but no wireless access for consoles or smart TVs, Ethernet only (note that only one port works) - use your phone to hotspot the WiFi connection onto your console if you don't want to eat into data and you have taken it into the kitchen. I have noted that it struggles somewhat to reach to your bed and can cut out at times. Wireless is five times faster than wired for some reason so don't bother with wired for your computer.

Older looking halls as cupboards look like they’re on the last legs. However other than the older and worn out look of something’s, it’s not bad! Ensuite rooms so no need to share bathroom, good privacy when ya need it to do work! Walls however, are pretty shit! Can hear through the walls, so if someone’s shagging next door.. you hear it unless they’re quiet! WiFi is pretty bad.. like really bad, will cut off all the time!

Big kitchen, had all the basics needed. Nice little shower room too. Each room had there own heating, means if your cold you can turn it on with bothering any mates!

It’s not completely horrible. The social life here is great apart from when people are banging up the stairs at 4am on a Wednesday morning after Warehouse Tuesdays. The bathroom drains are slightly crap but the rooms are pretty sweet even if they’re impossible to keep warm in the winter. Lastly our kitchen is fab even if one of the chairs at the breakfast bar was put together the wrong way round. Would rate it 7/10, a valiant attempt at being a nice place to live but could do better.

it's really nice and everyone is friendly and warm and comfterble. there's a lot of people and easy to make new friends and located in centre of town so easy to get to places.

Fantastic rooms. Good size. Nice en-suit bathroom. And ideal shared kitchen. Needs an extra fridge and cupboard for seventh room.

Exactly what you would expect from hall, cleaned regularly, bedrooms are small but don't spend much time there anyway

Stayed here prior to the refit but it's close to town centre, has a laundry room and a fairly big lounge depending on where you live.

I loved my bedroom in Roeburn. Although small without tons of storage it was manageable and if there was more I might not have used it all. It was warm enough in the winter and the boards meant you got to personalise it alot. Down side being I was too tall for the bed (and I’m not super tall.) The bathroom was small too but I wanted the ensuite so that suited me fine. My only issue with that was as it was a wet room, it was wet... constantly. After showering it took a couple hours for water to just go down the drain never mind get dry enough to wear socks, even after maintenance looked at the drains. The kitchen space and facilities were good but I had a lot of issues with my flat mates about keeping the communal area clean. It never got clean enough to eat in even after complaining and having meetings. Because of this we did not have a good relationship and I barely spoke to any of them unless it was us getting angry about the bins; which hardly ever got taken down the 4 flights of stairs, causing smells and mould. The security team were accommodating and friendly, I often got locked out my bedroom due to a faulty lock but they were always speedy getting me back in. The game room once completed was lovely. Laundry room worked well most of the time, I always went on a Sunday when it was least busy. It is super close to the media factory where I took my classes and not a hard walk into town, which was perfect. I also never had problems with the wifi or signal in my room. Compared to other cheaper halls I’ve been in, it’s worth the price difference for the ensuite.

The location was ideal to get to any lecture hall across campus, with amazing rooms and facilities. Made so many friends here and spent a lot of time in the common room, fantastic place.

The location of the halls in amazing, less than a 4 minute walk to the building all my classes are held in. Could have done better facilitating the social experience.
