Pontypridd

Pontypridd is a very very quiet area in general, not too many places to go, but it is good because therefore, there is no distraction. You can just focus on your studies, although if you want to take a little break the park is open to everyone to come and relax a little bit either alone or with friends.

Lots of local food delivery, plenty of pubs and social evenings. A couple shops walking distance and a big Tesco only a couple minutes drive l.

The location itself is bad but the good thing is it is relatively close to Cardiff (15min by train) The only thing here is gym, some shops and take away.

It is very cozy, and everything is convenient. I am not a night out person so I don't really have an opinion for clubs/ pubs. But I wish they had more sit down fancy restaurants and maybe some better shops. i.e Primark or Blue Banana.

30 minute drive to Cardiff city centre which has everything including a really big shopping centre. Local takeaways are bad .

University of Wales Trinity Saint David's is located in the centre of Carmarthen. Just a 15 minute walk from Carmarthen town where you can experience lots of shops, restaurants and Carmarthen market. The town also includes a cinema and a multi story car park. Carmarthen town also includes bars and pubs for the locals if you enjoy a pint or two, or head to Swansea Centre 40 minute drive away to Wind Street where you Can experience the cocktail bars and nightlife. Carmarthen also offers historic landscape such as Llansteffan castle, along with a beautiful beach if you wish to take a stroll. Buses and day trips are also available if you wish to visit the beautiful Temby around 40 minutes away.

The University is located in a somewhat quiet area near Cardiff thus being quite good when it comes to shopping or going out clubbing, as long as you can afford a taxi back after all that drinking. When it comes to places around the Uni there is a club and a bar in the students union where they organize a club night every Wednesday with drink offers and numerous pubs and takeaways with student deals nearby.

Great location only a number of miles from Cardiff. Plenty of facilities on campus including shops and a nightclub. Easy acces to any books in the library and always staff to help out throughout all departments.

Only Uni club for night out. Average takeaways. Limited shopping to Tesco Extra or Sainsbury’s further down the road.

This is a great place, the views are amazing and the location is perfect for getting to Cardiff. The night life is great but small here however you can easily get to cardiff for nights out.

The place is as beautiful as it gets but it's so quiet it's boring. Great place to stay in if you're going to the university

The location is dank. I do try to not get stabbed on a daily basis though #banter. Lots of shops, plenty of bitches what more can you want.

The location is prefect close to town centre so you can go to the bank or shopping. The nightlife is great as it’s also in the centre of town and it’s easy to walk to.

Usually go to Cardiff (by train) to do things (e.g. shopping, a nice meal out, better clubs) as there isn't much in ponty. You've got the high street, which has some shops like (new look, Dorothy Perkins). A night out in Ponty would include the local weather spoons as it stays open late, or club ice, if they have an event there.

Unfortunately, the uni is situated a bit in the middle of nowhere. The bus links are difficult to get to, nearest bus station is a good 30 min walk. There is barely anything to do in the shopping centre - hardly any places places to eat the nearest is Nantgarw. The town is very empty, with some shops like Sainsbury's and Argos being outside the main centre and only a small Iceland in town. It does have good train links especially to Cardiff. The dorms are situated at the top of a hill which is difficult to get to, making it difficult for those with disabilities or walking problems (the whole campus is on a hill).

The good there are really nice choices, from kbbs to Chinese. Night out is not too bad. And people are friendly

Living up in pontypridd is really nice, you get a mix of the metropolitan side and being in a secluded area, you're only a 30 minute train ride from Cardiff so you're never too far from a night out in the city but you also get the peace and quiet of being up in the welsh valleys. Though there aren't many places to go on a night out in pontypridd you can still have a good time in the local pubs which are fairly priced and never too far away. Youve also got a fair amount of small shops like Tesco express, B&M and pound land where you can do small amounts of shopping or you can go to Sainsburys for larger shopping trips. You've amounts got Currys PC world, Halford and Sports Direct next to sainsburys so you'll amountlsondlso have somewhere to go if you need to get things for your car or bike, you've got carphone warehouse inside Currys so phone repairs aren't too far from where you may be living as well. There's many things I could talk about but over all pontypridd will give you the mix of metropolitan and seclusion which many will desire if they like good night clubbing but also enjoy quieter nights with mates at the pub. My best advice is to take a visit to pontypridd and see what it's like for yourself.
