As halls go in Plymouth, this is pretty decent. Really close to uni, easy access to shops and nightlife. Very much appreciated having my own bathroom, however bathroom and room did have a caravan feel and things break easily, considering rent is quite expensive. Very social building with lots going on, although sometimes things in discovery heights especially, escalate quickly ...

Halls are a fantastic experience, I have made some of my closest friends through them and the support they provide makes it easier to learn to live independently! The facilities themselves can be considered rather underwhelming with boilers way beyond the need to be replaced and the lack of ventilation causing grot and mold to build up quickly. Flatmates can be an annoying nuisance (many sleepless nights) but also a wonderful comfort blanket to hide from the real world with.

My flat mates weren’t what I was expecting which Made my experience worse. Despite that the location was excellent literally across the road from the uni with a Tesco on the bottom floor which was perfect!! Kitchen was great for pres but my room was far enough away to avoid much noise

Overall pretty good, a great place to make friends and good selection of facilities including the communal and study areas. Unfortunately unreliable lifts that are frequently broken and out of order, and other small annoyances that do make it feel as though you aren’t getting completely what you’re paying for. Incredibly close to the university and town centre, an overall great location.

Good location however with about a 2 minute walk to uni (the traffic lights now take forever when I lived there though) and the rooms were good. Social experience was good to begin with, but as the year went on more arguments occured which was natural. Really close to town, train station and coach station meaning it's easy to get to travel. Room was also an ensuite, although should be stated that the water frequently went off? Good working space and plenty of storage, if you get a good side of the building you can see out to the Sound and the River Tamar. Good washing machine facilities. Negatives: Bad room for any car parking for visitors, was loud and rowdy, people used to jump in the lifts to break them, lost my parcels multiple times and people have died in Discovery Heights due to legal highs and overly drunk. Also was consistent building work next door when I lived there, that started at 5 in the morning and didn't stop until 7 at night.
