Lafrowda

Great location - max 15 mins from lectures and the same into town. The rooms are all identical but they are great. Loads of cupboards, shelves and storage space. The ensuites are good too - only downside is that its a wet room rather than there being a shower cubicle. That doesn't really matter though, it just means the floor is wet for a bit. There ere 8 people per flat and the kitchen is designed for this with 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, 2 fridges etc. We had to buy our own toasters though. TO be honest, the social experience is up to your flat and block. No one is going to organise anything for you and the only social areas are your own kitchens. I loved Lafrowda!

Lafrowda is in my opinion the best hall of residence to stay in. It is very close to everything on campus and it isn't far from town either. The rooms are a good size and Lafrowda is so social. Lafrowda is probably the best Hall to be in for your first year.

Lafrowda is definately the social hub of Exeter. We have the most fun and that’s widely accepted. The lack of great common room doesn’t seem to stop people as every floor has their own place to get together. It’s close enough to all my lectures and, as far as I know, no one complains about the location. The rooms are average size-wise compared to other dorms both here and at other unis (Bristol, Nottingham etc) I’ve seen. You can get an ensuite if you have money to burn but in all honest you only share with one other person which is less than in most homes.

Very sociable and terrific location, by far the best self catered accommodation on campus pity about the single bed

I loved how the university placed you with like minded people and how halls allowed you to intergrate yourself and feel at home the environment made it easy to make friends by having comunial cooking facilities but also allowed you to have privacy. The rooms had great storage, modern, clean and were a perfect size likewise with the kitchen having the essentials and sofas to relax.

Location is a 10 min walk from the business school and lecture theatres. The facilities are amazing, really new and it’s known for the parties. My room was lovely, the perfect size... I honestly couldn’t recommend any other halls at Exeter! Plus there’s a burger place right opposite and the student club.....

Extremely good halls! self catered= kitchen, making it very sociable. Great location, five minute walk from campus and very nice rooms, being fairly new and high quality.

I was on the 5th floor and the view across the city was amazing which was an instant perk. The location was very convient for campus with just a two minute walk to most places. I was very lucky in my flat meaning I had a great social experience as we were all friends so had great times both during the day and at night. The rooms provided were exactly what you needed; the amount of storage was amazing with lots of shelf space for academic things and then space under the bed for things not needed during term time. The pin boards in the room allowed you to hang lots of memories which was amazing. The large desk was exactly what you needed for all your work and anything else needed. The bathroom was small but for an individual didn’t need anything else

The location was great, halls were cleaned regularly by the staff, social life was great as it was close to town, university and lemmy. I had a great time in Lafrowda and would definitely recommend it.

Weekly cleaner was much appreciated, rooms were just the same as most other unis, good heating, really could have done with a water catchment on the floor in the bathroom as the water from the shower flooded the floor

Poor communal areas and soundproofing. Good modern facilities including bathrooms and kitchen. Helpful to have cleaning lady twice a week.

Lafrowda was everything that I hoped for and more. In the perfect location, close to campus and near the city centre, there’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular accommodation blocks. I lived on a block which was being refurbished and so I received a rent reduction. It didn’t affect my experience at all and communication from the uni was excellent.

One of the most in demand accommodation blocks, Lafrowda was everything I hoped and more. My block is currently being renovated and as a result I received a reduction in rent, but it didn’t affect my experience at all. It is so close to everything on campus but it can get a bit loud because it is next to the Student nightclub “Lemmy.”

Very clean and new buildings. Kitchens are lovely and have such a nice view. The room I stayed in was ensuite and It was very nice it had loads of shelves and and space. The desk is very nice and big and there is a separate desk light which is really bright and good

Really enjoyed my year in the ensuite Lafrowda Halls, the room was spacious and the university’s student life team were very helpful

The blocks are spacious and well laid out to be social. Expect to move between floors to socialise especially in the first few weeks to meet others with similar interests

The new lafrowda halls are incredibly well situated and boasts not only modern looking buildings but an effective and homely interior. Only 5 minutes walk from the centre of campus and with a corner shop, pool and student nightclub all less than 300 metres away, these halls are without a doubt every first years dream!

Great location for accomodation, highly recommend to first year students. Easy access to lectures and into town. Only negative is that the accomodation is relatively expensive.

New Lafrowda is amazing - relatively newly done with ensuite wet room, good amount of storage in rooms, large open plan kitchen/living room ideal for hanging out with flat mates! Don’t mix up for old lafrowda - looks like a prison block inside and out!!

The location of the halls is amazing. It's a 5 minute walk to uni and a 10 minute walk to town. It's between town and uni whereas most other halls require you to walk across campus, past lafrowda and then to town. It looks lovely with lots of greenery around. I lived in new lafrowda which, if you can afford, I would recommend. I wasn't too fussed about the ensuite but corridors and living space are more spacious. Also it's a lot lighter than old lafrowda. The social experience was great if you go out a lot. There's always someone to go out with and most of my current friends are either from sport or from the block I was in last year.

The location is great, in close proximity to campus and not too far to town! The halls themselve are lovely, however slightly on the small side - but that's to be expected of uni halls. The communal area is what lets the halls down most. Could do with an extra sofa and perhaps a television! All round though I would reccomend Lafrowda, clean, comfy and a great place to make friends!

Really great halls. All the rooms in new lafrowda are modern and comfortable with they own in suite bathrooms. All rooms are a great size, although the beds are single. Each flat have 8 people and I found this a great number since it meant they were very sociable, especially while we were all cooking. The flats in the halls were very sociable with each other and there were parties on most night. Furthermore it was close to an on bar diner which provided delicious food. It was very close to lecture halls, meaning I only got out of bed 15 minutes before my lectures started. WiFi wasn’t very good but may have been improved

The location is really close to campus and town which is great for getting to lectures and nights out. Has a shop and restaurant 2 seconds away which is really convenient.

The location of lafrowda is perfect for first year student with it being in the heart of campus. Only a 5 minute walk to the forum, and right next to the lemon grove diner and student club. It is a very social location with it also being only a 10/15 minute walk from town and the clubs. The bedrooms are like a standard university room, very modern and clean, with a large kitchen/living area to socialise in.
