Glasney Student Village

The rooms are on the campus so very easy to access everywhere, especially if course is location on penryn. The on site staff are very quick are resolving problems and are really sweet to talk too. The room itself constantly had problems which caused me to eventually move out of the flat I was first given and into another.

To save money I opted for a shared bedroom with a bunk-bed, although maybe it would've been better to have the study bed rooms as it meant there wasn't a compromise on desk space, but nevertheless the money I saved meant I could eat well, go out regularly and afford my course equipment. Living right at the bottom of the Parc area of Glasney Village was quieter which was good for living as the areas with more flat parties etc were a short walk around the corner. Overall I think the halls experience differs a lot from when I've gone to stay with other friends at uni's in London or other cities as it feels like its own little unit and makes it really easy to socialise. I know I few people who didn't live in this halls residency in 1st year and found it hard to make friends throughout uni. Downsides are that I studies at Woodlane so unlike people who studied on campus, I had to commute a short bus ride everyday. There wasn't a communal space in our halls flatmates hosted us in their rooms or we just sat around the kitchen table. Other than that I think this, along with the Warehouse, are the best places to live in halls at Falmouth uni.

Really clean and nice sized room, 'village' feel is really homey and friendly! Only a bus trip away from the beach which is nice, could be better if the flats had a social area other than the kitchen

Glasney Village is definitely the best accommodation option when coming to Falmouth - however that’s if you don’t mind a possibly dirty kitchen! Sharing with seven other student doesn’t sound so bad, it’s a lot messier than you expect! Besides that the halls are well maintained and glasney lodge, the reception area in charge, are usually quick to respond to any problems.

The location of Glasney Student Village is okay. It’s great being around so many students and on the Penryn Campus. There’s the Stannary bar a short walk away and Koofi’s (Café which makes great pizzas). However, i either have to get the bus (£1 each way) or drive to the Woodlane campus. If we ever want a proper night out we have to go to Falmouth as well as there isn’t much going on in Penryn. The buses run till 3am though most nights. When I first moved to the student village I had a shared room but moved out after a few weeks as me and my roomate are complete opposites and there wasnt much space for us both. The bed was also smaller in length than the double rooms and as a tall person I didn’t really fit. The double room I have now is much better. The bed is pretty big and theres lots of space. The desk is massive and the en-suite is good - maybe a bit small but still happy with it. The shared area in my flat is spacious and plenty of room for all 8 of us at the same time. Unlike some of the other accomodations (such as The View) theres more than enough fridge and freezer space (1 large fridge 1 small fridge and a large freezer). The wifi is very good, 95% of the time I have a good connection.

Glasney student village is a lovely place to live, and being on campus means you're close to all the lecture theatres / buildings. The room itself is a decent size. It includes a double bed, a large desk and lots of storage space. We have a spacious kitchen with a decent amount of cupboard space to store all our stuff.

The location is absolutely perfect, it takes only 5 Minutes to walk to and back from lectures which is quite handy whenlevtires are spread out through the day, some of the facilities could do with some upgrading, the washing machines are quiere small and expensive and don’t wash very well, just poor results. The social side of it for me has been fantastic we get on really well and there is a good space in the kitchen that allows for social activities although nowhere in the flat or the building is there a seating area which would be incredibly appreciated just to relax and have fun with friends, my room is perfect it’s a generous size and so it’s the bathroom with a double bed and a rather large desk I am very pleased I chose this accommodation

overall a pretty good university accommodation , however as expected it is very loud due to partying so sometimes can be tiring if you have a full on course.

Social experience was pretty good, Glasney Student Village is a small campus but all close together making it great for meeting people and going out for a drink on the campus bar. The flats are rooms of 8 and a kitchen, all rooms have en-suites so sharing a bathroom is only for those who share a room.

Loved living in halls in first year! Could have done with a bit of TLC but it was the people in my flat that made it 10% better!!

The best thing about halls here ifs twee community, because the houses are not blocked on top of each other and it is more like a village. Everyone is always walking round and it is so much more chill, the only downside is the inside is very dated, depressing and really could do with an upgrade.

The halls are in prime location as in campus so can easily walk to lectures or socialise. The flat is very accommodating as you have one room to socialise in unless you go to a bedroom. The wifi doesn't reach the end rooms unless you use a laptop but still can be a dodgey connection.

I can hear the flat above us walking around or making any noise. The WiFi is great other then the end rooms where you struggle to stay connected.

The accommodation was nice and modern with 24/7 on-site support. It is right on campus, so only a few minutes walk from lectures and evening events. Local shops were a bit far away and the campus shop can be quite expensive for basic items.

The halls are situated on campus allowing for easy access to university facilities. The halls also include super fast and reliable WiFi allowing all types of studying to be done! Fantastic student accommodation

There are two areas to Glasney Village, Glasney Parc is slightly older than Glasney View, but both are really lovely accommodation. Each room has an en suite, most are double bed rooms, but some are bunk bed rooms, or study bed rooms (2 person room with 2 separate beds that turn into desks). The only thing this accommodation is lacking is sofas! Or any sort of comfy area to sit down and watch tv, the kitchen table seats are wooden and hard. But if you are a first year and want to socialise with the most other first years from Falmouth/Exeter uni, then this is the accommodation to pick. Most first years live here, it's the biggest in terms of student numbers and is situated on the Penryn Campus, meaning that if you study on the Penryn campus (which most courses do) you can just walk from bed to lectures in about 10 minutes. Also there's a student bar/event venue that has pound a pint on Thursday night, open mic nights on Mondays, and a host of other events during the year such as a Christmas Ball, Freshers events and other parties like the 80s and 90s nights. It also has a gym, a sports hall, an on-site doctor, large grounds, and is in walking distance of an ASDA. You want to be quick when booking accommodation for this place, if you don't choose in time you're left with no option but to have a roommate (or it is full completely). It's a great community.
