During the day Oxford is the perfect tourist destination. Filled with historic buildings and of course their famous universities. Furthermore, theres plenty of museums, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and pretty much anything you would need for a day out. And with the new Westgate centre, you are spoilt for choice. Nightlife is a very different scene. The most popular nightclubs are Atik and Bridge, perfect for the university students or anyone else celebrating a special occasion. However, a better nightclub could be added, as they are becoming out dated.

Great town, perfect for shopping with loads to choose from also great places to eat. Especially on the westgate roof terrace! Good value for money and an overall happy environment with lots of entertainment and this to do. There is also great transport links all round the town.

Lovely city feel!! With gorgeous architecture from Oxford university and their beautiful gardens! Lots of local cafes in the city centre and in Cowley. The botanical gardens are available for free.

Oxford is a great town, its got loads of diverse bars/clubs with different nights and events on weekly. There a hundred of different restaurants with all types of cuisines, the highest rated restaurant on TripAdvisor in Oxford is actually a Thai and is booked up for week but is amazing. There are cinemas, an icd rink, a shopping mall, a crazy golf and all within walking distance. As an Oxford Brookes stunt I get free transport on Brookes Bus which if fantastic as it goes right through town and to to the train station. Ive never had to wait more than 15 minutes for any bus in Oxford, including the bus to London which is 24hrs.

Great location beautiful architecture. Amazing walkable city so close to london very cosmopolitan. number of chain restaurants and independent shops too.

Plenty of chain restaurants and shops in the city centre, mainly to cater for the tourists. Some nice markets (Oxford Town Hall, Gloucester Green) too for some more authentic food. Westgate (and Clarendon to an extent) are very nice shopping malls. Westgate is very new and pretty, and has shops such as Lush, Super dry Office, Nando's, John Lewis etc. There's crazy golf and an ice rink near Westgate which always makes a fun outing. Plenty of museums and colleges you can visit too. Clubs are okay. If you're not too picky with the music, Bridge and Park End will more than satisfy your normal club night out. Cheese, EDM, R&B are all provided here. The queues for these clubs can get ridiculous at times, as can the internal capacity. Sometimes you end up queuing for ages just to get in to a more-than-packed club with no footspace at all. Cellar, Bullingdon, and PTs(which will be taken over by Plush) all offer great nights out for those with more specific tastes in music eg. Indie, alternative, drum and bass. Bus services are everywhere. Rental bikes are cool and easy to use, however most apps (Mobike, Ofo, Pony Bikes) require an initial £10 top up/deposit so unless you are going to use the bikes multiple times (it costs like 70p for half an hour) then you'd be better off just getting the bus if you can't be bothered for bit of a stroll.

Transport is okay, with lots of buses, though thankfully Oxford is so small that if needs be one could walk all around it. Nights out a peak, no doubt, but there are lots of great society socials, college bars, and cocktail bars with incredible happy hour deals. All the standard high street collated in the Westgate, along with a smashing indoor market as well as an outdoor one at Gloucester Green 3 times a week. Eating out is good, particularly with a lot of variety down Cowley Road. Rent is v. steep but a lot of events as a student are subsidised by societies, as well as big companies supplying lots of free meals and stash to try and get you on their internship schemes. On the whole I really rate it.

A great place for students, does help that it has 2 big universities so being a student here is pretty good. Nightlife is amazing, decent clubs for different tastes. Drinks are mostly cheap, but depends where you go I guess! Shopping wise Oxford is amazing, the newly build Westgate Shopping centre is big and has all sort of shops from high end like Hugo Boss to huge Primark and Zara. The only downside of Oxford is the expensive housing.

Oxford is a small city with a big student population. There are a lot of pubs and bars you can pick and choose from. Many clubs have closed recently but there are still a lot of clubs in oxford to match your style of musics and scene. George street and the Westgate have to highest concentration of High Street Restaurants but venture into North Oxford or Cowley to try out the local restaurants and good food. You can do a lot of shopping, head to the Westgate and Cornmarket Street for your shopping needs. There is a lot to do in Oxford for a small city, with students everywhere during term time, there area lot of events. The City Council also hold a lot of events on holidays, for example, the Christmas Market on Broad Street. Use your student discount

Has everything you want, from cafe culture, to entertainment, a big new shopping mall, and other things such as theatre, cinema and more

Really good place to be, plenty to do, all colleges are super nice and pretty. The town itself is great too, lots of places to eat (cannot rate Taylors enough) some places are so overpriced though, it is quite an expensive place to live, I run out of money pretty fast. It's a small place, nothing ever seems to be more than 20 minutes away and appart from the odd cobbled street it's fairly easy to make your way around day or night (most streets are pretty well lit). I really recommend punting to anyone who hasn't tried it before, it really makes an impressive impact and a beautiful day out! Oxford is great, only down side is the prices!

The night life is better than expected - especially for bars and for cocktails, though less for nightclubs. Prices are generally high, though grants are excellent and there are a multitude of good coffee shops if they take your fancy.

Oxford is a beautiful place with lots of history and also lots happening now. Good selection of shops, though it could benefit from a few cheaper options. There is lots to do: going out for food, crazy golf, cinema, pub, night out and more. The buses are very frequent too.

Got loads of restaurants, everything for every taste. Nights out are good, atik is the best nightclub in oxford. Westgate good for shopping, lots of shops for all price points.

Good shopping at the Westgate center, plenty of restaurants to choose from, can be a little pricey in the Westgate but lots of good value restaurants in the town centre. Have a covered market with cute shops, very nice at Christmas to walk round in. Generally a nice town to visit with lots to do.

The food and shopping experience is amazing, especially with westgate! I would say the best part about Oxford though is the pubs. As it is basically hogwarts, the pubs have just got a really fun, local feel to them. So much atmosphere and it means that the pub crawls are cracking in oxford!

There are lots of traditional pubs, modern night clubs, full of a mixture of people. There is a new WestGate shopping center which is home to a variety of brands from Ted Baker to John Lewis and Primark. There is also a crazy golf course with lots of different themes. Great bus route with some buses running until 3am.

It's a very pretty place to live. Direct train links to Reading and Manchester, X5 bus to Milton Keynes and Cambridge. the Oxford Tube gets you to London for just £11 return and runs all night. Amazing range of food- basically all the coffee shops and fast food places you could ever want (minus shake shack, sadly), a lot of Italian, Indian, Chinese restaurants, pub food is generally good, I personally love the food court in westgate, and the kebab vans (hassans, solomons) which open from 6pm to 4am. Shopping is decent, all your typical high street shops (H&M, topshop, primark etc) can be found in Westgate, although I prefer London as it has a much wider range of shops. Clubbing isn't great but there's a few to pick from and they're usually quite lively, there's a few nice but too-expensive-for-students bars, if pubs are your thing then great, Oxford has a ton of those. Oxford uni students also have access to college bars (each college has one) but they're usually quite dead. I do like St Peters and Baillol though. For entertainment you've got cinema, bowling, ice skating, mini golf.

Oxford has a wide range of stuff to do that it is almost impossible to get bored. If you fancy feeling cultured there is the beautiful botanic gardens or the Museum of Natural History if you fancy seeing some dinosaur bones. The new Westgate has a wide range of shop and restaurants or the various other surrounding streets can offer more unique food and shopping choices.

Good shopping centre with lots of food choices. There are nice places to visit and things to do. I've heard from others that the night life could be better. The transport is also reliable such as the buses.

There is a general consensus that everything you need in Oxford City centre is within a 10 minute walking radiance - and it really is true. The University city is set out for you to swiftly glide between the shops, the libraries, your college, and the clubs. Although Oxford is the most expensive place to live outside of London, there are a multitude of bargains to be grabbed up, using student discounts at the majority of the shops. It is a beautiful city buzzing with student life; there is everything you need and the University sets everything up to enable its students to live with the most ease possible.

There aren’t as many clubs although it’s a small city. Everything is crazy expensive especially rent for students. The amount of tourists is unbelievably annoying as yet again oxford is small. Harassment by homeless people is an issue sometimes.
