Oxford is a beautiful but expensive place to live. The central area is made of stunning old buildings and is a lovely place to visit. Housing and living costs can be expensive though.

Oxford has beautiful city scape with rich history so there is a lot to do during the day. There are a few clubs Atik, Bridge so night life is alright.

The town in general feels small and busy all the time. Shopping facilities are good since Westgate opened last year, though still lacks some shops e.g no Apple Store. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars so huge variety of food available- even market in Gloucester Green. Not an excessive amount of things to do unless you are a tourist. Personally find night clubs quite bad

Exceptionally beautiful city with so many little lanes and streets which you always keep discovering more of. Nightlife for students is average-poor, as there is only a couple of big clubs in town which have very generic student nights on each week. There are occasionally good events as there are with every university. The biggest downside to Oxford is the price of living. Rent prices are sky high (not far below London prices) and landlords in Oxford are notorious for ripping off students.

Oxford is known for its historical architecture and for being home to one of the most prestigious university, however there’s much more to oxford than meets the eye. It’s high crime rate and unaffordability makes living in oxford as a student difficult. With cowley being one of the main housing areas for second and third year students you’d expect the crime rate to be minimal in order to promote it as a safe area however with many rapes, cases of violence and burglaries taking place it’s far from this. You’d think you’d hear about this side of oxford before moving here in order to deter students from coming but many students have never even heard of this side of oxford. It’s about time that we expose it for the scary place that it is.

The accessibility of the town to any other city other than London is incredibly poor. Even to go to Cambridge, which is literally 1.5 hours away by car, you’d have to take the train down to London first. The food is good and the town is lovely!

Oxford, in my opinion, is a very overrated city. It lacks a lot of social and shopping resources that can often be found in smaller cities like Exeter. Despite boasting stunning architecture, besides that there isn’t much natural beauty to it. If you’re used to and enjoy country living then Oxford may be disappointing for you. Also, it’s very expensive here, if housing costs are a big deal for you, perhaps choose a different city to study in

A fair few clubs and good selection of restraints and shops in the new Westgate shopping center. There is a very good bus service that runs every day. Downside is that it is fairly expensive to live in Oxford.
