It is the best halls in terms of convenience, with it being literally right next to the main student bar, however it can get claustrophobic and everyone knows everyone’s business as it is such a physically close environment

Cheney Student Village is great for first years or students who want to live next to uni! It’s a good price too. If you live close to the sports bar, it can get noisy at times but it’s nothing too bad. The room is a decent size with an en-suite. You get plenty of storage. The common kitchen/dinning area gets cleaned once a week, on other days you have to do some light cleaning.

The room is quite spacious, big wardrobe space, good shower etc. The location is good because it is relatively reserved and there are few facilities around the campus such as a sports bar and a gym. The social experience is good because there are places to hang out such as the sports bar.

Very basic for a big price. No sofas or communal area in the flat which is a great shame. The bedrooms are basic with not very modern interior. Some flats have new kitchen but we have an old one with lights that don't work.

Location was perfect for lectures, as well as the free bus into town. The rooms were fairly basic but clean, well kept and all had en-suites. The size of flats allowed for a good amount of social experience, as well as the size of the entire student village.

The setup of the village is excellent, but the flats lack a real social area. The kitchen, which is the only communal room, does not encourage socialisation. Luckily, the sports bar is nearby although it would be a better experience year-round if socialising was encouraged within the flats and the buildings were equipped with a social space to be used

Many students, good sized ensuite rooms. Good place to meet people and socialise Excellent location

Couldn’t fault the building. Bedrooms had good big windows, a brilliant heater you could control and good bathroom. Only Critisim would be that you can heart everything - side to side and above and below all day and night which gets quite bad. Kitchen was cleaned each week and they were so helpful with post etc however with only a table it was hard to relax there with no space for tv or sofa or anything to social on

Cheney student village is a great place to live. You are less than 5 minutes walk from the university. However, it does require a short bus journey to the city centre

Seems lovely, always clean. Only problem is that some of the bathroom doors don't close, which is an issue if you have people over.

Located very near to uni and sports center. A very friendly team of wardens. Just that it is noisy at night during weekends or party nights.

I have a room on the ground floor, directly next to a main road, which I thought would be very loud during the night, and would therefore make it difficult for me to sleep. However, I've not encountered this issue and the room itself is great. The en suite shower room is a great size and was spotless when I moved in. The room itself is a decent size, however I would've expected slightly bigger for the price of the room. It has a lot of shelving and a good sized desk, lots of electrical outlets and the bed is decent, however the mattresses are a little bit solid. The heating is a tad temperamental so I tend to have my radiator on all day as it does tend to switch itself off. But other than that, the room is relatively average for a room in halls. The location is fantastic, it's 2 minutes away from the main campus, around 30 minutes walk from the city centre and very close to both Cowley and Headington.

Room very small but the social life is good not too loud but everyone is very kind round there, the gym is not too far and the bar is not too far either

Cheney is by far the best halls you can be in at Brookes, it’s right in the centre of everything you could possibly need. You’ve got the sports bar, gym, and you’re right next to the main campus and library should you ever need it. It may be on the pricier side but it’s well worth it, the flats are well layed out with great kitchen space and laundrettes around the halls. There’s even a new common room

Room was small but well arranged, plus you get your own bathroom and shower which is awesome. It's also connected to JHB which is awesome, and less than a minute walk from the gym and sports bar!

Location and facilities are fantastic. Support from maintenance and reception staff is also excellent. Some appliances are old, such as our fridge freezer which over freezes very easily as the door doesn’t shut properly. Also oven turns off when you stop moving/leave kitchen which makes cooking sometimes difficult. Lack of insulation in windows. Overall fantastic though.

Good halls, friendly, fairly modern, lovely room, close to campus, shared bathroom which was never busy
