Gill Street South

Room is very nice and clean, has lots of storage room and a nice bathroom, however very over priced and not worth the £155 pw. Kitchen is nice and appliances are all in good condition however it's hard for the flats to mix i think there should be a common room to make it more social. Also not very good for sleeping as you can hear everything outside the window on the road even with the window closed. Location is very good though for going to uni, going into town and going on a night out.

These halls have very spacious kitchens and rooms with ensuites and the location is perfect. It can be noisy sometimes, especially if you're on the ground floor, but apart from that I'd say they're the best halls out of all of them.

The location was perfect, facilities were impeccable but the social experience wasn’t the best. The blocks are quite segregated/cut off to themselves and there isn’t much going on between flats, unless you make friends and go over. This would be less of an issue if there were a common room for example.

I found Gill Street South really good in terms of safety, location and room storage - however I found the size of my flat far too large for me socially, which made fitting in with people difficult and made the year stressful. I lived in a flat with 10 other people and wasn't given a way to request or state a preference for a smaller flat before being assigned it. I know other universities offer personality quizzes for students that help the uni place them in flats with people that they're well matched with and I think this is something Trent could consider as I know other students who had bad experiences living in halls such as Gill Street South and Byron due to the kind of environment they are.
