Location was very good. Facilities were good, sometimes the laundry room was v busy though, so maybe more machines are needed. The staff were friendly and helpful but would tell you to turn music down at like half 9, nowhere near exam season. Social experience was ok, but each flat is separated and there was no common room. The only shared space was the courtyards but people wouldn't go there to socialise as there was nowhere to sit and often very cold. If I went in halls again I would go to Sandby because i would like the social experience of living with 24 people in a flat and being able to go and knock on any friends door. Also it's way overpriced.

The rooms are extremely well layered out and extremely clean and tidy, the kitchens are well equipped but it would be nice to have a social common room in order to meet new people outside of the flat. The location is fantastic and the freshers week reps were brilliant in encouraging people to get involved. The one thing I would change would be to add more washing machines and dryers in order for the wait to be less.

I loved my time at Byron as it was so close to both the uni and town making it the most convenient halls for me.

It is situated in an ideal location as it is above the Students Union and only a short walk from the city centre and the main campus facilities. The downside is that on a Saturday evening it gets extremely loud with people partying directly beneath you.

The location is very close to uni which is ideal for early morning lectures, the site is secure and the staff make you feel safe as there’s 24/7 supervision, the rooms are spacious and loads of kitchen space.

Lovely halls and very social. However with ongoing re cladding in buildings very noisy early in the morning and at night. Also there is 8 washing machines between over 400 students

Although this year there is construction works happening outside, the location is great and I couldnt be happier with the people I am living with. My room is very big and I love the ensuite

Well furnished and had everything as expected with the price. Toilet in the room was a massive benefit and also plenty of storage space.

The location is good, however, due to the student union being located directly beneath the building it gets extremely loud on weekends. A discount rate was supposed to be given due to this but was I never received it. It has also come to my attention that recently the buildings have been shut off to public use as they have unsafe living conditions and are not safe enough to be lived in.

Amazing location right in the centre with a short walk to local bars, clubs and shops. The facilities are great although there’s not a lot of washing machines which get shared between lots of people. Social life is great, reps every night during freshers dedicated to people who live in Byron residence and flats are all friendly and go out together. Room is great with en suite bathroom/wetroom with a desk, single bed and wardrobe (all the necessities). I would recommend and thoroughly enjoyed my first year there!

The location is perfect - right above the SU and next to the library. 100m walk to the city campus so perfect if you're studying there. Depending what block you are living in, you might experience loud noise when events are on in the SU. The halls were brand new when I moved in, so rooms were modern with an en-suite. The kitchen and living areas were also spacious with plenty of cooking space and storage. The halls also had a rooftop courtyard area where you can smoke and chill out.

Very clean Very sociable Nice ensuite Good beds Good location Best residence for this uni Bit expensive, doesn’t need to be this much money Nice staff Would definitely recommend to anyone

Looks expensive but for security and location it is worth it. The security keep a good eye out and it very communal which helps in first year I would keep on a low floor as the lifts did tend to break. There isn’t a shared social area but everyone tends to meet anyways

Staff always there and helpful, great location, great social levels, fantastic for any year of study!
