Broadgate Park

The facilities in my flat were excellent, perfect amount of people (5) for the kitchen size, I know other flats struggled as they had a smaller kitchen but more flat members. All the staff I came into contact with were lovely, social experience was great. Flats were kept clean every week by cleaners.

The location is very close to campus and so is very convenient for travelling to and fro. There are multiple entrance and exit gates which is also convenient when accessing accommodation. The committee puts in a lot of effort with the social gatherings, although this could improve by doing quiz nights or game nights and using the courtyard for such activities or the common room above reception. However the Christmas ball was a success and insanely beautiful and I commend them for organising that. My room is decent and I have adequate storage space, fridge space and a bathroom. However there are continual delays with addressing maintenance complaints, such as my shower drain being missing.

Good facilities in rooms but could be more common areas for studios as there is no real area to meet per block.

Housing was really nice and the staff are pretty awesome. Location wasn't great if you wanted to walk to town, but there's a tram 5 minutes away. There's also plenty of supermarkets in Beeston which is only a ten minute walk. Can be a little noisy in the early hours of the morning though.

Broad gate park is located just off campus (as in you cross the road to campus) so as close to to campus as you could need really It is self catered Kitchen size varies but a good size in a 5 person flat My room was a basic halls of residence flat with a single bed, desk and wardrobe. I think the rooms with the ensuite were bigger. I enjoyed the social experience although in catered halls there may be more opportunities to mix with people at dinner times

I stayed in spruces in a studio apartment during my first year. Although the room was really nice, I felt quite isolated as at the time the common room was a walk away in another building, so socialising with the people in your corridor wasn't so easy, especially when you had fire doors that were to be kept shut. If I had to do it again I would have not opted for a studio so i could benefit from the shared kitchen/common areas in flats. The location however was great, you have to walk from all halls as campus is big and although you may try to get the halls closest to your school, you will most likely be all over campus for different lectures. There was also aa ittl shop within broadgate in case you ran out of basics. During Freshers week buses picked us up for club nights and the broadgate reps/ welcome reps created a great atmosphere and cared about everyone's safety. Overall broadgate halls were great, I'd just recommend sharing communal space for the social interaction.

Good maintenance, good free stuff like Chinese food for Chinese New Year. Located in beeston so about a half hour walk to the medical school in QMC. Beeston is good for food shopping, but further from town than other self catered halls like St. Peter’s court. No living space, tiny kitchen, no security for lower court

Overall, really great. Facilities are lovely, staff are helpful... BUT THE WIFI. Went down several times during exam season which made an already stressful time more stressful.

It’s a great location, very close to campus and it’s just a few minutes walk to the DRSV sports center. The staff are polite and they are very helpful if you need any maintenance done. It would be better if there was a common room or a place to chill in upper court so we don’t have to treck all the way to the main broadgate.

Convenient location, doorstep of UoN and near Beeston which has supermarkets and pretty decent restaurants/takeaways!

Location is perfect if you love living at the doorstep of UoN! Broadgate has regular-ish socials, rooms are decent sized and service team generally okay, just a little expensive!

Location: Close to the uni and within walking distance to the nearby town centre where there were lots of shops and supermarkets. In Beeston there’re so many major chains that you won’t have to go to the city for much. A co-op is even opening opposite BGP. Social experience: the management is fantastic, they organise so many events throughout the year that are free and fun to participate in, including a welcoming carnival, Christmas cheer, Chinese New Year festivities, and a very affordable and value for money annual Ball. Social Areas: there’s only one common room and it’s above the management office, which doesn’t make it a very attractive location. It’s fairly large though, with cushions and a pool table. There’s also a cafe, I don’t know if you need to buy a coffee to stay there. There’re some tables here and there to sit on in spring / summer, though not enough. My room: got the basic one, adequate with a desk, chair, bed and cupboard. Mattress was clearly not new. Shared kitchen and toilets - the cleaning and maintenance crew are great, they do their job well and respond quickly. Value for Money: yup. WiFi: it’s okay. Nothing much to say.

As a fussy eater, broadgate Park was my only option. I must say I think it is really bad that all the on campus catered halls don’t have a proper kitchen as well. But broadgate was still in a good location, plus you had much more flexibility and freedom which was the best bit. However it was definitely much harder to mingle and meet people.

Broadgate Park is an amazing place to be for student halls! As it is one of the biggest student halls in England it has so many residents, which is great when being first year as you want to get to know as many people as you want. The cleaners, on-site staff and receptionists are all so friendly and incredible. Being part of a flat instead of a studio has been amazing as you become so close to the people in your flat and really do have a fun day to day life whilst being at uni!

Great location for Uni park campus, with easy transport links to the city centre. The biggest halls so always very busy which can be a positive and negative- there are always people around but it can get noisy.

reasonable price, good location and facilities, wifi cuts sometimes and social spaces could be improved.

Standard room was pretty small and there was no living room, the only place to have pres was at a small breakfast bar in the kitchen which couldnt fit more than 4 comfortably. Good set of people to live with though and close to shops, easy to get to town, slightly further away from lectures than other halls

Rooms were clean and kitchens a good size. Often had Silverfish infestations. A lot of money per week for what it is - I had one of the newer ensuite rooms. WiFi was okay- sometimes a little slow. The social side of things was good due to the amount of people on site.

Cheap and okay sized rooms. No tv or lounge space and the kitchen doesn't have a proper table but you learn to live with it. Great for first years but probably not the best for returners. The office is always open and living in Lower Court means it's a bit quieter (if you want it to be!) and you get to know your whole block. An okay experience I guess! 5 min from Westgate entrance and 15 from Tesco. Tram stop so close so great for nights out. If you have more money go for the large room. You get a huge room and there are 2 good sized bathrooms between 5 people which is a really great living standard....arguably better than an ensuite I guess because you get the flat experience too!:)

Broadgate park is a huge accommodation, which means some blocks are nicer than others and people with the same room type could have completely different types of flat. Since it is private, they invest a lot of money into the student experience so we get amazing balls for £10 instead of £50, free pizza/Chinese all the time, free yoga and salsa lessons etc. And they put on plenty of social events. Plus they have reception and maintenance 24 hours per day and if anything goes wrong it gets fixed really quickly. The rooms are nice, could be a bit bigger (you can pay extra for a huge room with a double bed). Our kitchen is very small and we only have a breakfast bar with stools not a proper table which I hate, but we each get a lot of cupboard and fridge space. Where I live it’s very quiet but some parts are noisy due to the main road. From broadgate to the other side of campus is a half an hour walk. The WiFi isn’t great, there are two networks but they’re both quite slow. My flat is always warm which is so nice and we have a cleaner who does the kitchen and bathrooms once a week which a lot of accommodations don’t have.

The staff is all really nice and attentive, there are so many activities year-round for everyone to get involved in, such as free yoga classes or cook-outs. There is an amazing library right by reception which offers students a place to study and have quiet areas.

Broadgate Park was a good location close to campus, with a regular £1 bus service running to town including nights out. This was reliable as there were 3 different bus services passing broadgate park. There was a small shop onsite which always had a good stock if you were out of food as well as a cafe which was opened for most of the day. The cafe also served cheap full fry ups which were useful after a night out. Across the road there is is the Florence boot hall field which was a good area to play football or chill in the warmer months of the year. Rooms were fairly spacious however the beds were not too comfortable. Kitchen areas were too small for amount of people in a flat.

10 minute walk to campus. Bus stop outside to take you to town. 10 minute walk into Beeston where there is a large tesco, Lidl, Sainsbury's. Lots of charity shops Stayed in coppers in 2015-16 Small room but good price Shared 2 bathrooms between 7 people Friendly with everyone in the block Washing was £2 every time and £1 to dry, 30 second walk from block. It was busy at the weekends. There were free food opertunities such as for Chinese New year and Christmas. Very clean, friendly and convenient place to live.
