The town in general is decent, it’s quite small to someone from a large city but it should fulfil all your needs. If not it’s close to Milton Keynes, Oxford, Birmingham and London by train. The nightlife is good, you’re going to have a good night when you’re with your friends anyway but because it’s a town, there’s not many clubs. They do have a variety of clubs/events playing different music however, so whether you like rnb or rock, you should find somewhere that you’d enjoy. There are a nice selections of bars, pubs and restaurants and there’s a lot of really nice independent restaurants around, such as Buddies which is an American diner.

When there are events nights out are good however fights are always expected. Not many good take sways, the restaurants are better. There are a few Activities you can do. Value for money is mediocre.

I’m living around Brackley area which really hard to get transportation especially to go to any town. The food here is quite nice but no entertainment such as cinema or even shopping mall. I enjoyed the weather and nice people around here.

Looking at all aspects across the board for this town, the nightlife is pants, literally not worth it...stay at home, the music genre is bad. The only transport that is actually liable in this town are the taxis, there is nothing to do in terms of activities and the only grand place you have to eat is Nando’s

Northampton is a great place, but there are definitely areas for improvement. It doesn’t have a great deal of places to eat, or shops that are actually worthwhile shopping in. However value for money is good, cinemas have a good deals, public transport is affordable and overall the pricing of everything is reasonable. It’s just all very meh, if you lived somewhere else and wanted to do a day out or go somewhere nice you wouldn’t choose Northampton. Overall I believe a lot of changes and improvements could be made to the town to make it a nicer and more enjoyable place to spend time in.

When visiting Northampton I would recommend a spa day - take a visit to Whittlebury Hall and relax! Sixfields stadium is very popular amongst local football fans. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and bowling alleys and cinemas to spend your time.

Great food at a good value! A very welcoming environment and a good place to be with great company! Few night clubs but good music and cheap drinks!

Overall Northampton is an average city to visit or study in, limited resources and activities and not one of the safest towns. However it does have good aspects and you can't really fault the transport

It is very run down and feels abandoned in some areas. Some other areas surrounding the university are unsafe and unlit with many people reporting incidents like sexual assault there.

Coming from a city, having only buses in hour intervals isn't exactly ideal however once you get used to it, it can help to be very organised. Nights out become a little boring after a while as you often see the same people, the same music and it's all a bit bland. Shopping isn't all that great as there isn't a variety of retail stores like london or Birmingham. Eating out can be okay if you know where to go especially in six fields. Entertainment is a seasonal thing so fair in summer & fall. Things to do on Halloween etc. As for value for money, I guess it's okay ....if the pay was more.

Northampton town does provide a good night out along with some nice restaurants in the town centre although some of them are located outside of the town centre where there are not many transport links for those who don't or can't drive. This is the same for some of the activities around Northampton as many places are located outside of the town centre. The shopping facilities in the town centre are good enough for what many people/students require when away from home.

The city is not too big but it has everything from shopping to food, entertainment. The life is more peaceful than big cities. People are friendly. I really enjoy living in Northampton.

Nights out are poor due to a low number of clubs, NBs meant to be the main club but is full of underage people. Decent restaurants

The town is too small with less clubs for students to go out and enjoy night outs . There is not so much you can do during the weekend then chill at the pub and eat Nandos which is boring .needs more arcades and activities to be done

Northampton in the day is a nice relaxing place with beautiful views but if your like me the nightlife is amazing everything is on one main strip and the fun starts from when you want until 6am and mcdonalds is the best for breakfast

The town in itself is quite nice and has beautiful scenery. It is not a big town and thus it can prove difficult at times to monuver around in comparison to locations such as London. There are quite a few clubs in the main part of town which tend to host good themed nights.

Northampton might be one of the biggest towns, but it for sure gets boring after the first couple of weeks as there is not much to do outside uni. When it comes to nights out, most students go to the same 2-3 clubs everytime since they are “the best”. These clubs are also open for other people which sometimes can be fun, sometimes not. Regarding eating out, there are the basic fast foods (KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, Subway) as well as some nice places where you can enjoy food (Nando’s, Zapato Lounge, Smoke pit, Ask Italian where you get 40% off with UniDays etc). Concerning shopping, not many stores, limited selection, many people go MK or London to shop.

Northampton night life is very poor in comparison to the likes of universities in big cities such as Birmingham and Newcastle. There are only two main clubs, both of which are not great. As for shopping the Grovesnor centre is a poor excuse for a shopping centre. It lacks shops and looks rather old fashioned and is in need of a refurbishment. There is not much to do in Northampton unless you want to go to eat,go for drinks or go to the cinema. The only plus side to the town is that everything is in one area so it is all very accessible.

Amazing university experience both academically and party lifestyles. Being placed in the heart of England, the town has a great location to easily visit UK's biggest cities (London, Birmingham, Nottingham etc.) within an hour or less. Town is constantly developing and growing towards a bright and productive future.

Unique and vibrant environment to complete studies and learn new skills by expanding limitations and reaching new heights. Vastly growing quality by implementing innovative methods into all of its institutional aspects. Easy and convenient shopping all around the town. Night life is on par with bigger cities, given the quality of the parties both from the SU and clubs found in town centre. Constant improvements e.g. new bars and clubs opening, expanding and refurbishing already established night club venues, attracting big names from the music industry e.g. DJs, performance artists etc. Great teaching facilities that strongly fulfil the value for money criteria. One downside is more emphasis should be put into entry requirements, not generally increasing it by grades but more assesing the talents of applicants to at least get a better picture on how they should proceed to complete their study of the individuals highest possible quality if given a place. This would surely increase productivity for both students and lecturers which would contribute to the overall development of the university

The town is very boring. The shopping centre is small and doesn't have wifi in it. Everything is very spaced out which requires a lot of cab. Transportation is good theres a bus for almost everywhere but the price can be a bit much.

Northampton is a good town if you’re after a quieter university experience. It has some nice parks and restaurants to go to. Overall its not a very exciting place to live
