So much going on In a small city, easy city to adjust to and find way around. Always something going on no matter what day of week.

Best city in UK got everything you need and isn't too big or too small. Friendly people, cheap and good student city!

Newcastle has been branded the best student city for a while now and there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be! Newcastle has everything whether it's great food at an amazing value, places to shop, countless student housing locations at varying prices, places to see concerts and theatre or even the beach! (Granted it's a metro ride away and it's always freezing but it's there!) Newcastle is an amazing place to make your home away from home. There is always something to do and more to discover in the beautiful city full of friendly welcoming people. I can't recomment it enough.

Extremely good value for money in terms of nights out and clubs as a whole. Great variety of places to check out shopping wise but slight lack of vintage shops unfortunately.

This is the perfect city for students. Everything is so close, shopping clubs, bars, restaurants etc. There is everything you need and on sunny days you can easily go to the beach or at the quay side where they create a mini beach for the summer.

Newcastle is a lovely, vibrant city where the locals are friendly and the drinks are cheap. It's a small city but offers everything you could ever need. Could not possibly recommend Newcastle as a student city any more!!!

Great place to go out in, the liveliest city you will go to for nightlife. Plenty of shops around for day time shopping with lots of places to eat also.

Newcaste is so much nicer than you think. Famous for night life and partying there is so much more to this river bound city. 5 min driver from the beach, 60000 seat stadium at st James park. So much fun to be had

Everything you'd ever want is in Newcastle; food, night life, history and shopping. Eldon Square in the city centre boasts an entire food court full of restaurants with a massive range of shops above. The night life is always there from around 7 at night but everyone is always friendly and respectful so I have always felt safe! The only downside is the weather sometimes gets you down but there are loads of things to indoors!

Very good nights out with a wide variety suiting all preferences, from quieter bars to clubs to events, most of them have cheap drinks and entry especially through the week days. Lots of places to shop, eat and drink with lots of student deals.

Newcastle is a great city on a budget. It's a city that doesn't punish me for my bad habit ignoring never cooking. Having lived there for a few months now, I'm still finding places to eat every single day and they all seem to accommodate to a student's budget.

This town has everything! Countless shops, restaurants and bars/clubs for all price ranges. Housing and travel is so much cheaper than what I expected. The people are so nice. Only thing I could ever complain about is the cold!

Newcastle is a great student city. It has a great range of shops and restaurants, both independent and big chain. It is a more compact city so everything is just a short walk away and there are so many nice places to visit. It has good nights out with prices generally being quite cheap, especially in comparison to other cities. One thing not to miss being a student in this city is going ice skating at Christmas time at the centre for life when it gets dark in the evening, it's such a wonderful christmassy environment and fills you with joy.

Newcastle is known as the 15 minute city for a reason, it has everything you need within walking distance and the metro and bus services makes it quick and easy to get in and out of. The nights out are a class above the rest. It's an amazing city to live in, really friendly and great value for money

Nights out very boring. The food is extremely amazing with a range of different cuisines to choose from and never get bored of the food here because there are so many different styles of foods to choose from. The shopping centre is good place to shop as it is vary spacious and easy to find other shops. There are other activities such as laser tag and paint balling. It is definitely worth ur while and money

Newcastle is a fantastic city. It's great for shopping, whether you're after luxury products or everydsy essentials. There's plenty more to do as well, with various art galleries, museums and independently run cinemas. I always love to explore the niche and cosy cafes in the city (visiting a cat cafe is a must!), and there truly is an infinite number of restaurants no matter where in Newcastle you are. There's always more to explore.
