The discounts on restaurants and shopping at Does the big stores and restaurants can be really beneficial regarding the budget students have

This place is just unlike no other. Where else in the UK can you get into a club for free, pay 7.80 for 2 trebles and a jager bomb and then be able to grab a cheese and chips with garlic sauce for 2.50 on the way back home. In Newcastle they have this shopping centre called Intu Eldon Square. One section of the shopping centre is they have all the popular shops you can think of but also in the different section, there's about 20 different food places, I mean you can't go wrong can you.

Newcastle is a very compact city and that makes it a students paradise. The uni campus is usually within a 20/30 minute walk from most student houses, but there are plenty that are only a brief 5 minute walk to campus. The campus itself is situated on the Northside of the city centre and walking to the High Street takes a little over 5 minutes, in which you'll have all of the regular brands and shops that you're used to. There's also plenty of great places to eat and drink within walking distance. This is especially useful on nights out, as you can usually just walk everyone and save the taxi fare or spend it on food (my personal choice.) All in all, Newcastle is a great student city and I'm sure will meet all of your needs.

Great city with the university being in the centre of the city. Newcastle is truly a student friendly city

Everything in the city centre is within walking distance while the metro offers people the opportunity to get around if it's a larger walking distance, therefore there is no need to bring your car. I would recommend a day out at Tynemouth beach at least once and getting the metro there is easy enough. Newcastle itself has many shops for day time activities but you can also take the train to the Metrocentre for a day out! Nights out are CHEAP! Three trebles for a fiver in some bars! There is a diverse nightlife, with different music and atmospheres depending on when you go out and what mood you are in. There are some AMAZING places to go eat with an incredible range of choice that seems strange for such a small city. If you're not a night out kind of person there's Museums, Cinemas, Theatres, and so many other things to do that are non drinking related. People are lovely that are originally from here so you can talk to a stranger on the street if you fancy a chat or need some help. I believe it is the perfect student city with many students already enjoying themselves living here from Northumbria and Newcastle University.

Newcastle is the perfect city, especially for any new students moving from not such a large area. It's a big enough city to get you accustomed to the city life, but not too big that it is overwhelming. There's so much to do food and drink wise, as well as nights out. It's also insanely cheap for us students!

Both campus’ for Northumbria are based in really good areas. The main central campus (which is based in Newcastle City Centre) is probably the better out of the two though. There are loads of different factors which make this campus location ideal. Firstly, the campus is literally based in the middle of town so you have everything you need around you, Eldon Square shopping centre, multiple supermarket stores and also a great transport link! (Even though the metro isn’t always the most reliable transport system.) The location of the university is also ideal for people who love nights out, due to Newcastle offering so many nightclubs and pubs to go to. As well as this, Town has a really wide selection of restaurants to choose from as well, which is great if you want to eat out! Coach Lane Campus is also a really good university campus, although it does take longer to get there. However, I really enjoy being based at this campus, especially since everything you need is based conviently a few minutes from each other.

All the charm of a smaller city, with all the bars, nightclubs, things to do you could ever want as a student. Definitely better value for money than most student cities, from the cost of transport, accommodation, nights out and more.

Plenty and amazing shops to do shopping, loads of places to eat! And so many different things to do and see. Nights out are always the best as there’s always events on and ways to get cheaper drinks and entries, plenty places to go making it a fab night

Amazing vibrant city. Always something to do at all times of the day, at night here’s plenty of bars, pubs and clubs with varying nights on whilst during the day there’s plenty of shops, restaurants and attractions to visit! Locals are mostly friendly.
