Newcastle is a great student city. It has a great range of shops and restaurants, both independent and big chain. It is a more compact city so everything is just a short walk away and there are so many nice places to visit. It has good nights out with prices generally being quite cheap, especially in comparison to other cities. One thing not to miss being a student in this city is going ice skating at Christmas time at the centre for life when it gets dark in the evening, it's such a wonderful christmassy environment and fills you with joy.

Always places to eat, night life is amazing, transport links throughout the whole city! So many good places to shop whether its the metro centre or the main city centre in Newcastle. Always something to do & doesnt need to cost a lot of money.

Newcastle is a fantastic city. It's great for shopping, whether you're after luxury products or everydsy essentials. There's plenty more to do as well, with various art galleries, museums and independently run cinemas. I always love to explore the niche and cosy cafes in the city (visiting a cat cafe is a must!), and there truly is an infinite number of restaurants no matter where in Newcastle you are. There's always more to explore.

Incredible city to live in, so many places to eat out and have nights out! Shoppings not bad and the locals are usually very friendly. reat transport system; most of the railway has a direct connection throughout the entire uk!

Nights out are great - cheap and cheerful, there's always something fun to do. However Newcastle probably isn't your best bet if you want a specific DJ or mindblowing events, bigger cities like Birmingham/Leeds/Manchester may be better. However for an easy, fun, cheap night out it really is one of a kind. The locals are lovely, it feels like there's a slight town/gown divide but that's more the fault of the students to be honest. If you're into shopping Eldon Square has everything you need, not really my thing but there are also great vintage clothes shops etc off the beaten track. Grainger Market is a great stop off point for organic food.

Newcastle is a great city, made entirely suitable for students! Two central universities with a a indoor shopping centre and every shop you could need. Restaurants, pubs and clubs are on every corner, all the way down there the stunning Quayside where the river Tyne is. It has a wide variety of price ranges where you can have a cheap night out in Revs to a fancy meal and cocktails in the Botanist.

The nightlife in Newcastle is arguably one of the best in the country, especially for students. It has a range of night clubs and bars that will ensure everyone with ranging tastes finds something they enjoy. With shopping you're spoilt for choice, Newcastle has plenty of popular shops that people of all ages can explore and find something they want to buy. Although sometimes more on the expensive side, the prices of items or nights out differ from shop to shop or club to club. Many clubs have events on each night which make the prices drop significantly and make for an exciting and interesting evening! Newcastle has something for everybody, and is a wonderful city to be a student in!

There will always be great value for money in the north east, but that doesn't mean quality is low. Newcastle offers the best nights out, plenty of shops and restaurants in every area.

Amazing city with lovley people and and loads of shops. Eldon square is super handy and the transport makes it so easy to get everywhere. Christmas lights are pretty and the Christmas markets too.

The nights out are always generally good due to the fast paced environment and variety of different bars available within the city centre. Eldon square and Northumberland street also have a massive variety of different shops, great for students as it's close to both universities so I can go and shop there after a lecture if I need anything. The quayside by the River provides great scenes to sit in restaurants and have food and also has a market on most Sunday's.

Not just a party city. Obvs Newcastle is known for being the best night out and one of the cheapest. But it is also home to culture and beauty too! The sage, biscuit factory and Baltic are all iconic homes of art in different forms. The sage is a vessel for music and other live performances and the latter two are art museums. The choice of restaurants is amazing so many great places to eat.

Newcastle is a brilliant city. There is so much to do during the day and the night. There are student nights that allow us to do fun activities for a lot cheaper. Things that we probably wouldn't do if it wasn't discounted like mini golf or bowling. The night life is great, there are so many places to go and a lot of them are free entry, plus you always feel safe on a night. Everything is in walking distance so there is little need to pay for transport and it's a nice walk through the city. There are lots of towns nearby like tynemouth which is lovely for a day out. The shopping is great along with the food and nice places to go for drinks.

An excellent city that has everything a student needs within walking distance. There are so many places to eat and new food to try for reasonable prices. The nightlife is pretty diverse with a range of bars and clubs to suit any preference. The student nights can be cheap for drinks too. The city centre shopping is great with the metro centre also being very close by.
